Post Op Question: Burping!
Hi everyone,
I've started on regular food this week, and I've noticed that even though I chew, chew, chew everything and eat slowly, I tend to burp a lot! Is this common? Do we take in more air with our food because we have to chew everything so much? Or is it something else? I'm keeping my meals and drinking separated by 30 minutes.
Does this excess burping harm my new pouch? Don't feel any pain or ill effects at all.
It's almost embarassing, especially at work (although the girls all know what I'm going thru and understand)
Thanks,
Beth
Thanks Laurie!
Maybe it's just me, not sure. I might have to call Dr. Wood tomorrow if this keeps up.
Congrats on the protein! I'm still having a problem getting all of mine in, but with being able to eat real food, I think it'll get easier.
Glad you're home from the hospital, too! Hope you're able to get some proper rest!
Beth
I never heard of burping causing ill effects to the pouch. Our new pouches take months to heal. There is such little space for air to be in that I am sure it has to come up. You should hear me hiccup when my food goes down at times. It forces the air up with such force that my hiccups force my whole body to convulse. It is loud well. It is hillarious yet embarrassing. I have no control over it and it can happen 5-10 times in a row. Your body will do strange things over the next few months. I am sure it is nothing to worry about.

burping isn't my problem as anyone who has walked behind me at the mall can agree.
I just don't get the satisfaction from burping that a good solid butt canon provides. There's nothing like hearing your loved ones scatter as the eruption wifts past the three second mark crescendoing at 11 seconds. Then again a nice double para-diddle for puncuation can be quite stunning under the right cir****tances. My son , Keith said it best with, "Aw, Geez dad!"
