My Medical Update

Hey Everyone. I went to the urgent care today. My PCP did not want me to come in there. I am a little upset about that. He recommended that I go to the ER. If I have to go to the ER with a non emergency than I have to pay 30%. I am not going to do that. The urgent care thought it might be my hemoglobin, but that all came back normal. I called Hendrick's office today, and they said it is probably my blood sugar and I will have to start being treated for that. She said it was very common in gastric bypass patients. So I am going to see my PCP tomorrow morning, (he is willing to see me tomorrow considering I went to urgent care) and I will discuss treatment options for it. And I will need to see if I need to test my blood a few times a day or not. Thanks for the responses I got. On a good note I lost another pound so now I am only 8 pounds away from my goal and only 4 days away from my year mark!! God I hate being sick but at least I broke my plateau. I really was not having any symptoms really. I was laying on the couch, got up and walked about 10 feet and it happened. I was dizzy for a minute and then I collapsed. Have you ever had this happen to you? Suzanne

Suzanne, Are you having Low Blood Sugars? I did not realize that one's blood sugars are affected with Gastric Bypass. Anyway, I'm glad for you, that you are getting some kind of answer to the problems you've been having. And....I'm sending you a great big "High 5." for getting off the pleataeu and losing again. Suzanne, Glad to hear you went to the urgent care... but it sounds like they did nothing and you still have to see you pcp... I know I'm talking to you like your gastric bypass mom again but I can't imagine calling my pcp and him telling me to go to emerency before he would see me... I can call him and if he doesn't know since I'm his first bypass patient he will call Doctor Marshall or associates to get answers... Anyways, You didn't state you were feeling better which I hope you are... take care I'll talk to you soon Renee
