Hello Everyone, How is everyone its been a long time since I have been on here. I tried for three years with BCN and was denied five times. I have new insurance and I have switched surgeons offices too but still going to have surgery at Harper Hospital. I am now working with Cori Center and DR. Michael Wood. My new insurance is United Health Care. Can any one give me any feed back about United Health Care, Dr. Wood and the Cori center and Harper Hospital. I would really appriciate any information. Thank You so much and good luck with everyone's weight loss journey and their new lives, I just hope to be on the loosing side real soon. Angie P Berkley Michigan

Hi Angela I haven't heard from you in a long time. I'm glad to hear that you're still at it. I didn't have dr wood or cori, but i was at harper and hated it. I'm different than most replies you're gonna hear, but after being in icu on a vent for a week and got so weak, i couldn't do anything for myself, even walk. I hope everything goes smoother for you this time. I'm sure you're ready. Hugs Linda

Hello Linda You look great when is that pic from I am going to go to your profile and read whats new. I am back to the fight gosh I am sorry to hear you went thru all that . Was it the hospitals fault or surgery???? Please let me know how everything is I am so happy to hear from you we have to talk! I am so excited and so nervous to put my faith into getting this again! You know what I went through with bcn it was pure heck five denials!!!!! I got a new job and got new insurance. So now amy at the Cori center has to put everything together and I have to go back for another psch eval and a nutrition eval (new to me). I am praying and crying every day I want to be on the losing side so bad. I have gone down to even 500 calories a day and did not loose one pound. Dr wang says the surgery is my only tool to help me loose weight. Its great to hear from you please keep in touch. HUGS!!!!! Angie

Thank You so much for responding. I called UHC the day I got insured and asked they said that my plan with my employer covers the sugery if its medically nescessary I am 5'4 345 , diabetes type II, sleep apnea, asthma, edema, herniated disc in my back and djd in both knees ect.... I had tried with BCN for three years five denials later. I am praying that I dont have to go through anything like that again. I was told by Cori that they verified my insurance and it covers lap rny and open. I think that every insurance should cover this surgery for morbidly obese people You did have your surgery right? I hope so thanks again Angie

I'm going through CORI and Dr. Wood, and Amy is my case manager also, so far everything is going good. I have BCBS and Amy says I dont even need pre approval, she talked to them and its an automatically covered procedure. Hopefully everything works out for you this time around.........Diva
