I got home Friday morning. I feel pretty good besides being real tired. I am having a hard time drinking my 3 diebetishield drinks that the Dr wants us to take in daily. They make me throw-up. So I am just drinking lots of water and broth. Started on jello this morning. I just am not getting anything in calorie or protein wise. I am so glad this is a 1 time deal. I hate my draintube, really the only place I am having discomfort. I also have to change a dressing every 2-4 hrs that I have along my bellybutton because something is leaking from my incision area. Pretty sure it is from the pain buster. Started right after it was activated Yep I can honestly say I do not ever see plastics in the future if I have to have draintubes. I understand the purpose and think they are a great tool to use but I do not ever want one again. I thank everyone for all their kind words and prayers for me while I was under and during my stay at the hospital. Thank you Brenda P. and Dale S. for coming to visit me. I know I wasnt hallucinating lol. Only 3 more nights of sleep before I get these stinkin tubes out..I cant wait.

Hi Megan, Glad to hear you are home and doing as well as can be expected at this point. I can relate to your comment about the idea of plastic surgery is the furthest thing frm your mind right now. I felt and said the same thing. In fact still do but time is a great healer so don't be surprised if in 2 years we both are looking for a good plastic surgeon Pamper yourself right now. Let others do what you can't or aren't supposed to be doing. Get healed up and keep us posted on how you are doing. Patt

Oh Megan, I feel your pain with the drain tubes. That REALLY grossed me out!!!! But now almost 8 mths later, it's like the pains of childbirth, the memory goes away as it's replaced with new happy memories of your changing body!! Don't worry too much on the calories/protein this week.... just keep sipping, resting, and walking!! Hugs, Laurie

What happens is this: In the beginning stages of the weight loss you are just so happy to be smaller that the extra hanging skin does not even really phase you. This lasts about a year. You feel and look better. That is all that matters. Time then goes by. You get used to your new body and the honeymoon stage of the weight loss is over. You get so used to looking at the new you in the mirror that the old you is like a dream(or nighmare). You almost cannot remember what is like back then. THAT is when you start to be unhappy with the skin. You realize that you could do more surgery to make yourslef look even better. The pain of WLS is way in the past now and you think that if you could get through that, then you could certainly stand the pain of a tt. You then become fixated on what you COULD look like if you were brave enough. This is how many get to that point. You are a ways from that so all you need to focus on now is getting better. You will do fine. The drains are not the worst part of plastics. I never felt mine(well one had issues) and I ended up having to pull them myself as they stopped working. I clipped my own stitches and pulled them out myself. Let me tell you what I baby I am normally. That was no big deal. Trust me. There are many other horrors worse than drain tubes. All I know is that all the pain from WLS and the TT are worth it. You will think so too when you are feeling better. Take care. Terri

Congrads Megan! I am new to this site and see you are from Owosso. I am from Corunna and having my surgery at the end of Feb. Dr. Tomita will be doing mine too. Sorry your not feeling up to par. I am sure it will take a couple of days to feel normal again. My friend just had the surgery 2 weeks ago and hated the drain too! When that is out it will be a big relief! Keep me updated on how you are....we are so close we can all meet up sometime. Keep your chin up! Remember why you decided to do the surgery and look at peoples before and after pictures! That will inspire you alone!

Congratulations, Megan, good to see you on the losing side! Although it doesn't seem like it now, time is gonna fly. I am 4 weeks out, and I NEVER thought this day would come. Sip, walk and rest. You'll feel better each day. Beth

Megan-- I'm glad that you are home and that you are doing ok, I know you have to deal with the uncomfortable things right now (draintubes), but like everyone else knows, soon it will be but a memory. God is Good!! I will continue to pray for you. God bless you-- Sam

Hi Megan, Glad you are home and doing OK. The drain tube is definitely a pain, I remember wanting so bad to get mine out and then I had to keep it in extra days! But it is there for a good reason so I guess we need to be glad it is just a temporary pain in the butt. Good luck on your journey. Meg 340/251/175

Megan, Well I am glad that your doing well. Keep up the good work. Keep on sipping and walking. Soon your going to be dancing around the house. Your right the drain is the pit, but it is short lived and soon forgotten(yes your going to forget about it too). Hope to see you soon, take care and thanks for the mention but that is what friends are for girl. Keep on sipping, walking and napping. Brenda
