Hi and welcome to the board Melissa! You can weed out the ones you don't like now, but from personal experience and the experience of others here, often what you like/tolerate pre-op revolts you post op. So what ever you fine, use caution is the quanity you stock up on. Pre-surgery I liked the GNC and a few others. After surgery I only tolerate Unjury. Best wishes to you on your journey. Hi Melissa! I did the same thing, and it's a good idea because you can pretty much rule out ones you don't like. But Sheryl is right, you won't believe how much your tastes change post-op! Plus you may need to try others because they suit your needs better. With that said, I really liked Chocolate Delight by Atkins pre-op, then found that it was just too thick and chocolately for me post-op. I found my joy in Isopure at GNC, 20 ozs. has 40 gms. of protein. At my 3 mo. post-op visit, though, because of my lab work and extremely loose stools, my nutrionist switched me to GNC's 50 Gram Slam. I needed something that would "stick to my ribs" better. That has been the perfect fit for me. The milk chocolate is very mild, it's not too thick, and it's 15 ozs. with 50 gms. of protein. Our bodies only absorb 25-30 gms. of protein in an hour or so, that's why I split it up and drink 1/2 the can in 2 different sittings. It also comes in vanilla and banana. So, there's my input, for what it may be worth ! Good luck, and welcome to this wonderful, friendly and resourceful board! Blessings, Lizzie B

Hi Melissa, Welcome to the Mi. board. They're right our tastes chang post-op. Still start trying different proteins. Pre-op I liked Whey vantage from G.N.C. Banana blowout~I cant stand that taste now. I do like Whey vantage, Chocolate thunder, and whey vantage, Extreme vanilla, which you can change the flavor of by adding different things to such as fruit, or yogurt. I did use the isopure pre-op, but post-op I could hardly stand it. It was way to sweet for me. G.N.C. will give you sample pks. (for free) if you ask for them. You can also go to bariatriceating.com and order samples of what they have. Hope this helps. Best wishes as you continue your journey. God bless you, Annette
