Update #2
I have read everyone's replies to my post and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support. It does help.
I have decided to halt the exercise for a while. Maybe even a couple of more weeks. I have also decided to NOT wear the binder as I drain just horribly when I do. I have not worn it today and have had the same badage on since this morning. The swelling I can deal with better than this draining. We will see what happens tonight. Night time and laying down is the worst for the draining. As soon as I lay down it starts. If I can get it to slow during the day, maybe it will heal faster on the inside and stop. It is just a thought.
Thanks again everyone. This board has the best group of people ever. Maybe when all this is over, I will organize a get together as a thank you.
Love,
Terri
Terri,
I think that it is an excellent idea about the exercise & binder. You are still in recovery from a major surgery - an extensive TT. Give yourself time to heal.
I don't know if I've mentioned this but my PS doesn't use binders - he feels they inhibit the blood flow & slow healing. And while I'm still swollen, I don't think it's any more than usual (my drains were removed at 2.5 weeks out). So perhaps going without the binder for a few days might help you.
Again - sending you major ((((HUGS))) & thinking postive thoughts!
Take care

If you do not wear the binder you will allow a gap between your skin and tour fascia/muscle and that will fill with fluid. "Any empty space will fill with fluid" was said to me. Eventually you will absorb it as I did. I suggest you wear it and put a surgical sponge near the drain site to absob the fluid after you drain as much as you can.
I am not your doctor and I shouldn't give medical advice other than I would ask your surgeon but I do believe the binder is needed. It is a pain in the ass and I hated it but it worked for me.
