Feel like I'm being choked!

Ever felt a pain in the middle of your upper chest that radiates up the neck and feels like something is wrapping around your neck, choking you? My recent labs were fine...low cholesterol etc, so I don't think it's my heart. I do have MVP and Tricuspid regurgitation. I'm almost 4 months post op. I hate to keep running to the doctor; I don't want them to think I'm a hypochondriac!

Gallbladder perhaps?

Good thought, but they removed my gallbladder when they did the original WLS. I just went to the ER (just in case). They ruled out a cardiac problem and said they think it is related to the WLS. They said it may be esophageal spasms or dehydration. After a GI ****tail with Donetol, I felt better. So, at least I can (try) and rest easy tonight.

I was going to say esophageal spasms. I get those and they are not fun. I always think Im having a heart attack. They suck. Prilosec or similar type drugs are supposed to help, but I haven't tried it yet.

Hi Marsha, That kinda sounds like what I have some times. When I get the pain it shoots right to my back and I can't lay down or even sit down cause it hurts even worse. Do you have the same problem? I am not sure what is wrong with me. I was told 12 years ago I had a Hiatal Hernia but before WLS I had to have a scope done and found out that I don't have a Hiatal Hernia so I really don't know what my problem is. Good luck , Jennifer V.
