Downriver Group's First meeting

I want to thank everyone who came to our first meeting last night at the Southland Mall Big Boy. Larry and I had a really nice time! It was so exciting to have such a great mix of pre-op and post-op, all of us at different stages of our journey...and lots of fun personality! Just_Jane, we'll all be thinking of you as you head into surgery on the 31st! It'll be the first day of the rest of your long, healthy life...although you may not feel that way right after ! But we'll be here to encourage you and cheer you on...you've got a wonderful attitude that will really help you get through your recovery . I hope you all had a wonderful time, as well, and we look forward to June 15th, same time, same place. There are several others who are interested in coming, too, hopefully they'll be able to make it then! Have a wonder-filled day! Lizzie B

Thanks, it was great to meet everyone! I encourage anyone who considering going to a meeting to follow through and go. Lots of good information and companionship. Kath -- you already don't look like your picture!

Just Jane is right, Kathryn, you can already see what a difference your weight loss has been! And to think, it's just going to get better and better !! I'm so excited for you ! One thing last night did for me was bring back all that's happened in the past 10 months, all the anticipation...nerve racking anticipation...and the wonderful care I received at the hospital, all the support from my family and the family here on the board...it's incredible. You, Dayja and Frankie just getting started, and Just Jane soon to be...it's amazing and inspiring .
