Looking for Lap Band Patients

Hi Everyone! I am hoping to have Lap Band surgery this summer. I have already been approved by my insurance company and Dr. Carlin will be doing the surgery. I am hoping to find others in Michigan that have had the Lap Band procedure done, especially if you have had it through Dr. Carlin or Dr. Genaw. I need any and all advice and help that I can get! Chris, I had my lap band with Dr Genaw in March of 05. My advice would be to learn as much about the band as you can. A good source of information is http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/LapBand/posts.html Henry Ford has support group meetings twice a month. (2nd and 4th Tuesdays) There is also an online yahoo message board. You couldn't find a better group of people anywhere. However most of Henry Ford patients have had the RNY so the majority of the support is geared toward them.
