Approved...but I just want to cry!
Too little too late. I got my approval pending psych eval from HAP when I picked up my mail today. Unfortunately, my insurance with Hap expires on the 31st of this month. Not enough time to get my psych eval, nurse/nut consult, surgery consult and surgery date. Im so upset I just want to scream.
But, at least I know my second appeal letter was a winner. They actually cancelled my in person appeal hearing that was scheduled for this Wed, May 17th. I wasn't going to go anyway for the reasons stated above, but damn....
I hope I don't have this same trouble with BCN.
Wow Colleen I am so sorry! BUT this may seem like a stretch, but is there any way you could call your surgeons office and explain the situation to them and see if they can meet you half way on this?? Or I don't remember but if there is COBRA offered to keep your HAP insurance can you swing the payment for it until you can have surgery? Don't quit fighting until the 31st!!!!!!!

Cobra is only an option when you lose your insurance entirely. I will still be inusred come June 1. My department was outsourced and I will be working for the company we were outsourced to, and because my employment is immediate and they offer insurance, I cannot take Cobra. However, even if Cobra were available, I couldn't afford the premium. I will just have to start over with BCN.
