Question for the day 5/15/06:
Happy Monday fellow losers, friends, etc!!!!!!!!!!! Hope today starts off a great week for you all. In speaking to my Mom yesterday 3 times (via phone) we were discussing past friendships. So, my question for you today is very simple, but may require you to dig into your memory a little.
""IF YOU COULD FIND ONE FRIEND FROM YOUR PAST THAT YOU HAVEN'T HEARD FROM IN OVER AT LEAST 10 YEARS, WHO WOULD IT BE, WHERE WERE THEY WHEN YOU LAST SAW THEM, AND WHAT ROLE IN YOUR LIFE DID THEY PLAY??""
My answer:
I grew up in Harper Woods, MI. My best friend at the time was Tamara Denise Brown. We were in brownies, and best friends, we shared birthday parties, family and frienships for many years. It wasn't until I moved to Fraser later on that I lost touch with her, but when I lived in Port Huron back in the late 70's, she came to visit me. That was the last time we ever saw each other. She had a brother named Billy, and she lived on Elkhart in Harper Woods. I even remember the house number.
I would give almost anything to know where she is, what she's doing, etc.
Have a super day!
I was born in Fostoria, OH, and we lived out in the country. My best friend was Lynda Mendoza and she lived about two miles away. We were inseparable. "Blood sisters" if you remember doing that in the "old days"! We'd walk back and forth to each other's house every day, sometimes twice a day, and spent all our time together. Their family had 14 kids and we had 12 kids in ours, so there were always tons of kids to play with. We moved up to Houghton Lake MI when I was 13, just before 9th grade, and I thought I would DIE! We cried, wrote to each other for a while, she came to visit in our twenties, but she moved to Texas and we have since lost touch. It's been about 15 years since I've heard from her and would love to know how she is.

I would have to say the person I would most like to make contact with would be Slyvia Ballard. We were friends from 4th grade until high school and after that she went away to college, I got married and simply lost contact with one another. She lived on Joe Drive in Warren, last I heard she was a teacher in Avondale District, that is all I know!!! We had the best friendship during grade school she and I loved nature and built treehouses and forts in the woods near her house ( by the way those woods are now I-696 between the Dequindre and 11 Mile area) we were the ultimate tomboys. I do think I had more of a housekeeper attitude when building the forts, I always had to find a branch to sweep them out with!!! LOL Year round this was our play haven, I wonder now days with safety being what it is Do parents actually let their kids be gone for hours upon end and let them play in the woods near their homes? Somehow I doubt that is a possiblity with our society what it is...how sad.

When I was five we moved from Davidson to Flint Kersley School District. the first day I met Krista Smith was a my house she lived next store, She was on a dirt pile in my yard and when I got out of the car she stuck her tongue out at me anyway I was mad. We then became inseperable until I moved again in the eight grade to my dads in Birch Run. I belive she lives in California but not sure. I would love to see her again. My brother and her brother Niky were also best friends.

This is great Stacey!
After thinking on this for almost an hour the one person I'd like to know how she is and where she is, is Stacey Wright. I grew up in the country on a farm in Appleton, Wisconsin. My parents had a group of friends they hung with all the time. In the winter Stacey's parents would go snowmobiling with my parents on the weekend and Stacey stayed with us. She was like the little sister I never had. I grew up with 3 brothers and was the only girl.
Anyway the last I heard Stacey got into trouble with drugs. Her mom told my mom that Stacey said she always loved coming to our house on the weekend because we always treated her like family. That statement touched me. I never knew she felt like that. She was such a sweet girl and we had so much fun.
Anyway, Stacey I hope you are doing well and things are going good for you. I have thought of you over the years.

I would give anything to talk to my Mom again. She passed away in 1987. I would give anything to be able have a conversation with her again and give her a lot of hugs. Yesterday being Mother's Day has her on the top of my list. I know it is impossible to do; but I still miss her.
I noted that you talked to your mom three times yesterday; so that brought my Mom instantly to mind.
Take Care!
Stacy,
This is interesting question and I just happen to have a story to tell. After my Dad was here for 3 weeks helping me recover we went back Grandville, MI, his home. The first morning the phone rang about 10 AM. I didn't answer it. It rang again and he told me it was for me. Now, I couldn't imagine who would be calling me on his phone and not my cell. It was one of my best friends from high school who just felt like locating some of the friends we had in high school. She wasn't expecting me to answer or even be there. She just wanted contact information.
Anyway to make the story short we met one day last week at Meijer Gardens and had a wonderful visit. The last time we saw each other was at our 5 year high school reuion more than 30 years ago.
