OT - Can anyone give me info in the Detroit area
I'm having Lap rny 6/13 (tenitive date) and my dh has decided we should move to Detroit. After thinking about it, I think it's a great idea also, totally new start at life. I told him I could not go before December (after 6 month check up) but for him to go ahead and get set up. My concern: I figure by December I will be 6 months post op and hopefully close to 100 lbs lighter which would put me at 300 pounds. Hows the job market in the Detroit area for obese people? I have been working in a call center for the water company for the last 4 years (supervisor) and understand I may have to take a cut in pay I'm just a little about being without a job. Any feedback would greatly be appreciated.

Lurnia,
I don't think your weight will be an issue for you getting a job in the Detroit area, I honestly think I had more offers for work when I was heavy!!, however the job market here is rather tight right now. You will find plenty of work here at major call centers, such as OnStar ( which is who I have worked for), there are several credit card companies with call centers here, and there are three hospital call centers that I know of. All of these call centers are in the same area of Troy Michigan located within one mile of Oakland Mall ( 14 Mile and John R). I can also point you in direction of my doctors who take great care with patients who have found themselves relocating. The housing market here is booming, you should be able to find very affordable housing here right now. If you have any questions please feel free to email me anytime and WELCOME to you new home and with a new body, what a great start : )
