Does anyone have this or a similar problem: I am not constipated or even have trouble going to the bathroom, but I may go 3 days w/o having a BM and then I may be on the three times in an hour, going each time!

Rhonda, My problem sometimes (the best way to say it) is that I'm FOS. (full of s*it).....my surgeon who did my WLS said it's because I don't drink enough water, nor incorporate enough regular fiber in my diet. After numerous trips to the ER because of this, I started eating about 1/2 to 1/3 cup of Quaker Oatmeal Squares - without milk, just as a snack. They have low sugar and 14 grams of fiber in a serving which is 1/2 cup. I found that by eating this on a regular basis, I've become "more regular" and that helps keep things moving. I am not sure if lack of fiber could be it for you, but you might consider what you are eating may not contain enough fiber therefore this occurance of not going 3 days without then going three times in an hour is an issue for you. I also purchased some Flax seed granola online "Flax Z Meal" and add that to my oatmeal when I have some, flax seed will help with your digestion and keep things moviing and you don't want to eat too much of it or it has a "laxative" effect. The link to the granola can be found at: http://www.allstarhealth.com/de.aspx?&p=3124 I order the cinnamon as it tastes really great.....if you live in a bigger city, your local healthfood store may carry it so call and ask them first. Hope this is some help to you....I went through 3-5 months of being constipated to being just fine because I eat more fiber each day. And it doesn't take much. All my best Stacey W
