Im so ready to just quit!! I just got laid off two weeks ago....I have to pay to keep my insurance (Ha..no clue how Im going to do that) I had my 2 level appeal before the HAP board a few days ago. Just got word that they denied me "again" as they feel I really need another year of a medically supervised weight loss program. What do you do to get through to these people. Mind you, none of them on the board were obese...... I was told that after this meeting most people are approved. Will going to the state make me be approved? And if not....is that the end of my battle? How much more kissing butt do I have to do Ive so had it with HAP......they said they "really want to make sure I understand what Im getting into" Hellooooooooooo.........I do Hap....this is for you

Hi Erin I havent a clue as to what state is or like....if after going to state and then denied again....then what. Im so tired of being let down. Im sure I will take it to state...its just so damn frustrating. Thank you for helping, I appreciate it

HAP is your typical HMO - HELLISH MEANIES ORGANIZATION!! Appeal to the state. It took me about six weeks and when you are approved, start making those appointments! It took HAP another month or two before they finally notified me that the decision had been reversed. Don't try to kiss butt with the state. State the facts in a clear and concise way. I stated the reason I failed the psych eval was because the psych's specaility was GERIATIC not BARIATRIC psych. Give options that you can live with in order to get approved and HAP's decision overturned. Show them that you are willing to work with them. DO NOT GIVE UP!! That's what HAP wants you to do. As for the CORBA, I don't know what it will be, however, I do wish you the best!

I feel for you....in my own way, I'm angry too from my plastic surgeon visit and blah blah blah. But you know what? People here encouraged me to try other people, other things, and TO NOT GIVE UP THE FIGHT. So I'm here to tell you-- we're in this TOGETHER so if I DONT GIVE UP THEN YOU DON'T GIVE UP................OK???????????????????? LET'S KICK SOME INSURANCE ARSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND BETTER YET.....LET'S GET THE THINGS IN LIFE WE WANT..... this is only a minor setback, it's only temporary and best of all..........you can win this!!! SO LET'**** THEM WITH OUR BEST SHOT! Hi Stacey I read about your visit with the plastic surgeon. Im so sorry your having crappy news as well. Yes Im going to fight....I think I just needed everyones support.....its so hard...its so upsetting. I feel like its never going to end! You hang in there too....and yes were going to hit them.....over and over and over.... Thanks for being supportive and the pep talk..smile

Good Luck with CRAP, oops I mean HAP. I had to have it when I first went to work at Henry Ford Bi County!!I was so pissed when mt sons father chaanged to Hap because his wife works there. Now I ALWAYS try to keep BCBS or some type of PPO. I was just trying to tell one of my coworkers to change before she started her WLS journey but she was told she would have no problem with HAP. I told her to come to the web site because I've seen others fight with HAP. Our job offers BCBS for $26 every 2 weeks for a family of four!!!!! And theres no pre approval(WLS), but for some reason she wants to keep HAP!!!!! I really hate HAP, can you tell???????

Hi Diva Before switching over to HAP I was on this website and reading the "good" things about it in 2005...but then in 2006 things changed....and I found out "after" taking it...and was stupid enough to believe I actually would have no problem getting approved. I was wrong! Where do you work....are they hiring?

You dont wanna work there, everyone is Really though I work for State of Michigan-Dept of Corrections. A female prison (as a prison nurse)in Ypsi and the employees are worst than the prisoners!!!! But its true. KEEP FIGHTING!!!
