You know what too, Stacey ... if he is really that inconsiderate and not that thorough, you probably don't want him cutting or reconstructing anything on your body! You may turn out lopsided or something!!!!!!! Trust your gut instinct ... if it doesn't feel right, then it isn't right. I'd keep shopping for a surgeon. I also allowed the first surgeon I went to for WLS to take care of contacting my insurance. BIG MISTAKE. I learned I should have contacted them myself. Perhaps you should do the same and get the PS info directly. Just my 2 cents! Diane

Stacey, I would recommend Dr. Ron Barry in Saginaw. He did my tummy tuck and yes I had to meet my insurances guidelines to get there, 100 lb. loss and I had to keep it off for one year. Then it was covered 100 percent. As far as the boob job, he quoted me 4-6,000. Insurance won't cover it because I don't have any infections, back problems, etc..... Dr. Barry is very compassionate and willing to work with insurance companies. I recently applied for credit through Credit Care for my breast lift/augmentation. They offer interest free payment plans. That's the only option I have now that my husband left me and I don't have the help with his income to pay for surgery. I am going to do this-I deserve to feel good about my body after all I went through. So do you girl!! Don't give up. Keep fighting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love ya, Susan

Thanks for all the ideas, support, comments!!! I'm better today and not as irritated...for sure. I had a great night's sleep for once and I see my WLS Surgeon today at 1230pm so I'm gonna just see him and move on with my life and keep fighting. Maybe it was too soon, I don't know. I do know that being 47 and single and having sand in tube socks is hard for me when I want to Jog really bad, and I can't because of the constant BOUNCING. Though my PCP had recommended a Triathalon suit - "DESOTO" makes them and they are available online for about 75.00 or so. That may be the route I take because I have really begun to enjoy jogging. As far as the TT, I know my wls surgeon said not until I'm 2 years out and July 19, 2007 seems like an eternity when knowing I'll be 48 when that hits, I'm just not getting any younger. I spoke to a couple friends last night online and on the phone and will continue my search....with my back pains and fractures I need to make sure that the insurance company will cover something or I can't afford to have it done. And I don't consider whatever the plastic surgeon does "cosmetic" by any means, I don't feel that I need implants just that I need them reduced. So, I'm going to keep on searching-- just next week or something. I will take into considerating everything each of you have written! SO MANY THANKS FOR BEING WHO YOU ARE AND CONTRIBUTING TO MY WELL BEING AND LIFE!

Stacey, I second Susan's motion for Dr. Barry in Saginaw. He is a very nice man. I have not yet had my surgery, but recently met Dr. Barry when he did surgery on my husband. I am very impressed with his work and the compassion and professionalism he exhibited. If I should need surgery after my weight loss I am probably going to have him do it. Good Luck to you!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Phyllis.... right now I'm going to re-direct my energies to other things with my body. I know that my disappointment will eventually vanish, and whether I can get anything done or not is just out there waiting. All I can do is try my best. I thought having a highly referred plastic surgeon would make a difference, so I'm thinking about holding off pursuing anything right now. I've got much on my plate this summer and really need to re-direct my energy to that event. (my father's memorial service) Thanks for the recommendation and helping me keep my chin up!

What insurance do yo have?? I had one in 2004 and the first doc I seen says insurance didnt cover it. I went to Dr Wilson at DMC, ( 4 other co workers had used him)the consult was free and after we talked over an hour about the procedure he asked me when did I want o schedule. No pre approval or anything, I had big pendulous(long) breast!!! I had surgery 2 weeks later!!! GREAT RESULTS!!!! If you want info let me know!

BCBS Comm Blue PPO. With my medical backgound of 8 fractured ribs, lumbar problems, arthritis, and having gone through 4 months of Physical Therapy, pain meds, skelaxin, tylenol 3 with codeine, plus the fact that I cannot jog due to their flopping, you would think that this idiot in bay city would have taken time to read the 8 page documents and two referral letters by my PCP and Chiropractor. The medical documents included nuclear bone scans which showed my rib fractures, I have x rays from my chiropractor that showed the lumbar problems, he didn't take time to review ANY of it. At this point I'm going to look into calling BCBS next week and discussing this with them and see what they have to say, I need to find a PS who would not charge up front, and all I wanted was a reduction and he said I didn't have enough tissue. According to him I had less than what I believe he said 500cc's? He said that if he did a lift insurance wouldn't cover it but how can he know that without reviewing all the documents I provided which took me several weeks to acquire? I would like to find someone closer to Mount Pleasant because the traveling for myself and my work schedule is going to be tricky. I am not giving up- that was only phase 1. I will keep at it -- and if I have to I will return to my PCP and see if she can refer me to someone she knows in Grand Rapids, she herself had RNY and may know of someone who can be helpful instead of waste my time and gas money. Thanks Detroit Diva....I will keep what you said in mind and will shoot you an email if I need more info!

I am not sure about why your sooo pissed off. Today is Mother's Day here, and I wouldn't care if she had sagging boobs as long as I was going to have her here. I realize that your upset, but be greatful your alive and becoming slim. Life is too short to be so angry..... Happy Mothers Day...

Being 47, single all my life, never a mother, (due to cancer) I feel differently about my body I guess. I have expectations about my appearance for ME primarily and that's why I got soooooooooooooo pissed off. It ain't over by a long shot. NO WAY. I AM FIGHTING FOR WHAT I WANT.
