Bad News, I'm furious and really pissed off!!!
I went to see the plastic surgeon today in Bay City. Dr. Mark Komorowski, MD.
THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO SAY THIS: THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN DO INSURANCE WILL COVER SO I'M STUCK WITH SANDBAGS FOR BOOBS AND THAT'S HOW LIFE IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE.
AS FOR A TUMMY TUCK, I AM NOT A YEAR POST OP, I HAVE NOT LOST THE REQUIRED WEIGHT YET, AND THEREFORE HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER 2-3 MONTHS SO I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO CONSIDER DOING ANYTHING ELSE AND LIVE WITH THE APRON AND FAT TUBES AROUND MY BELLY FOREVER.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO BITTER AND ANGRY. I CRIED IN THE OFFICES, ON MY WAY HOME AND JUST SAT THERE IN MY TRUCK SHAKING.
I'M PRETTY UPSET AND RIGHT NOW I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO JUST CRY REALLY HARD.
If insurance can't cover it, then I can't do it. Plain and simple.
I have medical problems with my back, fractures, arthritis and joing problems that was never looked at.
I had three letters of referral still he didn't even glance at it.
I was at his office at 120pm and he didn't come in to see me nearly until 320pm, my appointment was at 2pm and I was already upset.
So I'm just not putting myself through this bs again.
I cannot afford out of pocket expenses. I am on a one inome household and honestly insurance is my only option. period.
But thanks.
Stacey: I am sorry that you had a bad experience today. As for the breast reduction.....what does the insurance company say? I think Jennifer is right...check out another doctor. I think it is pretty standard that they won;t do tummy tucks till you have lost 100 pounds or you have reached that 1 year anniversary. You are still losing, girl! From what I have been able to tell from your posts, you are a fighter, and will find a way to conquer this. Hang in there!
Tracey
You know, I am a fighter, but this one put me down in the gutter.
It hurt. Bad. I feel like i'm going to be 47 and sagging for the rest of my life.
My insurance company has said nothing- I am planning to call them next week after I regain my sanity.
I AM NOT A QUITTER. and thanks for letting me just vent my anger.
You both are right. and I thank you.
Stacey
Dr. Komorowski is not the only surgeon in Michigan. Go see another one. It does not matter what he says your insurance will or will not cover. HE is not your insurance company and HE is not the dictator of your policy.
I would have second thoughts on even having him for a surgeon if he was that tardy and his bedside manner did not appeal to me (based on what you stated, I would not even consider him). There may be alternatives that another surgeon can provide to the insurance company to have a breast reduction approved. Go see another surgeon!!
Michelle
Bedside Manner: pffffffffffffffft.
He didn't read any of the 9 pages of referrals and official documentation of my 8 fractured ribs.
He didn't even make any attempt to offer me another solution and THIS IS NOT FOR COSMETIC PURPOSES!!!!!!!!!!
I surely plan to see someone else, I just need to have time to gather my thoughts, get in touch with BCBS and see what they have to say and then get my PCP or WLS surgeon to refer me out again.
It's time consuming and with my fathers memorial 2 months away, I was hoping to get it done before but now I just don't care- I just want to get some answers and hope that this can be done.
"""you don't even have enough to work with for a reduction he said and I'm a DD!!!!!!!!!!!""
TURD. he is.
Deep breaths. New, more supportive undies. And lots of phone calls to other doctors!
This really sucks, I know you were psyched up to get the body work done.
On the brighter side, if you have to wait a bit longer on this, I should be far enough out from my surgery to come and help you. Us single ffbs (formerly fat broads) need to stick together. I'm bcbs too, and I anticipate a big fight for the reconstruction.
Don't give up, there has to be a way!

Should have asked if he wanted to trade!! Then he might have reconsidered that statement. Okay, now for a hilarious visual....... picture HIM with your saggy breasts.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Michelle
good idea. however mine are not detachable. darnit.
i did write a letter. to him. stating that i was clearly disappointed in how he overlooked all 9 pages of my medical issues around my 8 fractured ribs in the back and the proof.
I may or may not mail it. gonna wait a while till i cool down. besides, i dont like burning bridges even if they are made of horse poop!!!
thanks for making me grin.
