I am planning on writing a Cookbook for WLS patients. I hope to publi**** in a year or so and since I am new at this I would appreciate suggestions and recipes to include in it. It is in the outlining stage now, but I'd like to start getting recipes together. I am hoping to have surgery this summer and it will be a good project for me while I am convalescing. Anyone who would be interested in contributing please email me. I'll let you know how things are going. I am hoping to take the book from the beginning of this journey, including presurgical suggestions for keeping weight stable or losing what is required. I plan on dividing into recovery periods and nutritional goals. I truly need a hobby and since I have written a novel (unpublished, of course) I am pretty good at editing and have researched publishing companies. But I am getting a bit ahead of myself. Any thoughts or opinions are certainly welcome. Mary

i've always wondered, do you need to get the rights to reprint someone elses recipe or is it fair game? i.e. recipes i find in cookbooks or on the net and then atler slightly to make my own. how does that work?

Most recipes in cookbooks are copyright protected therefore you need the publishers consent to reprint them or republish them. The only reason I know this is being in broadcasting, there are copyright infringement laws that I have to know. hope that helps. Check the book and see if it is copyrighted anywhere. That will be your answer.
