Insurance problem

All of my paper work is in, except for the 12 month diet and exercise program supervised by my PCP. I have BCBS PPO. I have dieted during the past 4 years, mainly with WW and CURVES. I lost about 30# and gained back 40#. My insurance counselor stated that I probably won't get approved. So I am a little bummed out right now, and I guess I don't know what to do next.

I had diet issues since I was 8 years old, and wrote down from 1969 to present day what I had done, how I failed and succeeded. Don't let some insurance counselor BUM you out girl because she doesn't know it all. First, did you document all of your weight issues on paper for them chronilogically? Second, did you ask WHY you wouldn't get approved? I have BCBS Community Blue PPO, met the criteria and followed through with a 4 page letter of my past dieting, and the surgeon's office got me approved in ONE day!!!!!!!!!!! SO DON'T TAKE THIS PERSONAL, GET ON THE STAGE AND TAKE A STAND FOR YOURSELF AND FIGHT IT GIRL TO WIN WHAT YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! C'mon!! I'm here cheering for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had BCBS PPO when I had surgery and I did not have the supervised diet by my pcp if you meet the criteria of a BMI of 40 or larger and have co morbidities they will probally appove you for the surgery. It all depends on what the surgeon writes in his report that they submit to BC. Good luck on your journey Tricia
