possibility for insurance to surpass 6 mo family dr. diet

Hey guys.....can any of you maybe give me some insight on this...maybe this has happened to you or you've heard of it happening. I have benefit source (ppo) and they require all applicants of possible wls to go for 6 months to their family practice physician for a supervised diet. I started in February. The reason i began this journey for wls, besides the obvious, is that I have a really really really bad back and my weight just makes it worse, if not the whole reason for the back problems. I have received a note from my back dr. that wls would be great for me and is needed asap. I wonder if it is worth looking into that I contact my insurance co and ask them if they would drop the next 2 months of the diet and get going on approval. I don't want to wait any more than i have to but yet i don't want to make them angry either. i know it is only 8 more weeks, be patient, right? help me folks. i am soooooo ready for this. thanks for all who write and offer support. I also like to give my opinion!!! seems like it means more here than at home to my kids!! lol lol lol lol
