Hi everybody!
Is anyone considering revision surgery at Mexico?
if so, what is important to consider? Is Monterrey, Mexico an option? other places?
I understand that the doctor would require a greater expertise, what should be the minimum requirements?
who should I consider? red flags to watch out?
Costs?
Many thanks for the support!
Hi so excited to share with you!! Lol I flow to Juarez in May of last year. I had the gastric sleeve surgery May 12, 2017 with Dr. Rodrigues it was the best experience ever the hospital was extremely clean almost to clean the smells made me nauseous it was the best ha ha the doctors all of the nurses are wonderful he has the same anesthesiologist for 14 years it was a very very safe trip I'm down 108 pounds loving my sleeve.
I was very comfortable with the drs and staff. Much better than the programs that put you in a hotel room to heal. IMO.
Thank you, I plan to look into them and ask some questions. I had a sleeve in 2009 and lost 140lbs. Then gained 90 lbs back. I revised to a mini gastric bypass in 2014 but it was a failed surgery, that wasn't done properly. Since then I've gained all my weight back plus an additional 20lbs. So I've been pretty depressed about all of this. I had an endoscopy in Nov 2017. I have acid reflux so bad it keeps me up at night. I'm on rx meds and take over the counter meds. The report came back that strongly sugessted to revise to an RNY Bypass. Well my insurance doesn't cover revisions so now I'm looking once again for a place I feel confident and can trust.

No regrets. The weight loss is not dramatic because I only had to have my pouch repaired so they did not do anything to my lower intestines. I still have the same amount of mail absorption. Since you're revising TO the gastric Bypass you will be different. Since August I have lost 40lbs. My main victory though is I have not had acid reflux except for a small handful of times. I used to have it 3 or 4 times a day taking medication twice a day plus pepto.
Hi Jessica,
Thank you for this thread. It has really helped. I'm looking at revising to the gastric bypass. How are you doing now and how has the weightloss been? Any regrets?

Hi Holly,
I saw that you have had 3 surgeries. Would share your doctors with me by chance? I too will be going for a third time to have surgery because of an inadequate surgery that was performed on me. I'm looking into surgeons now and just want someone I can trust. This has taken a huge toll on me. Thank you.

I used dr almanza first and he is an excellent surgeon but the support staff let something to be desired.
Dr Ponce de Leon gave me the SADI I didnt ask for, avoid him at all costs.
I used Dr Ungspn st Mexicali Bariatrics for my revision. He is no longer there but all the surgeons are excellent.
Mexicslli is now the only group I recommend and especially if it is a revision.
They stecworth the extra money, hands down.
May I ask why you have your heart set on Grimaldi from Affordable? Just curious. FWIW, I just had a consultation with Dr. Pompa also in TJ. She said she does a lot of revisions and fixes a lot of other doctors work so she might be worth a consult. Her scheduling service Destination Medic. She offer free consultations and maybe you could win her giveaway surgery.
I think you are shilling for pompa and you should be aware that is against TOS. I am reporting you.
