Does anyone know if Blue Cross Blue Shield would cover any after care or complications after a VSG done in Mexico? I'm scheduled with Dr. Valenzuela for next week. I also had a few other questions: Does the all inclusive cover companion's food? Where does companion sleep in hospital? Are post op meds included in my cost? Thank you in advance! I'm so nervous! I'm also having my gallbladder removed at the same time.
KDalt you will enjoy VIDA and Dr. Lopez you won't have a concern in the world once you get there. Also look at a few other post on here discussing VIDA specifically by Yaarak.. She also posted pictures.
yes we are going to different doctors. Let me no how the hotel is too haven't figured out yet. Good luck and fast recovery.
Hey KDalt,
My wife and I just got back from TJ where she had VSG with Dr. Lopez. If I can say anything with regards to our experience, it is that this is by far the most professional place we have ever visited for medical treatment. Dr. Lopez and all his staff are exceptional at their jobs. They all went over and above to make sure the procedure was perfect and all our questions were answered. The doc even came back at 9pm to check on my wife. He then spent 45 minutes chatting with me on what to expect and put my mind at ease. Also, Vida is an amazing clinic. Super clean and all the aftercare staff are top notch.
Good luck with your procedure. I am confident that you have found the perfect doctor!
I am scheduled with Dr. Corvala at Hospital Angeles in Tijuana in June. I like the fact that they will let me stay in a real full scale hospital one night pre op and four nights post op for recovery instead of a hotel room. There are several other good surgeons in Tijuana but most of their standard packages are one or two days in a hospital/clinic and the rest of the time in a hotel.

I went to the post office and applied for my password card. It arrived within a few weeks. Getting into Mexico seems pretty easy but you def want papers/documentation when you leave. ideally, a passport or passport card. What price range are you trying to stay in. Lots of amazing doctors in Mexico! I will update this forum with my trip and surgery!

Hello! My doctor is Dr. Fernando Garcia at the Florance Health System Hospital (tijuanabariatrics.com) I will def. get updates on my journey to Mexico, the hospital and the surgery :)
I am not going then unless my birth certificate. comes soon. I am still trying to find a great priced dr in Tijuana for the DS. So I would love to be kept up to date with all that you do?
What surgery did you have? I'm having the DS and can't find a good one in Mexico that isn't super pricey.
