I did not use your doctor, but I also went to Mexico. I had a great experience all around. I am so happy with my choice. Good luck on your journey!

I just keep thinking...why did I wait so long? :). I am HAPPY to be on this bench! 10lbs lost this first week and already fitting into things from "that stack" in my closet. Unbelievable. I think the next couple of weeks are going to be a lot of fun. :)
Congrats, and welcome to the losers bench! :) I had my surgery done in TJ in January- it was a great medical experience as well.
Thanks for posting your experience :)
Hi there - I can't comment on any of the doctors you mentioned. Only because my hubby went to Dr. Joya. We didn't research anyone else - because we knew people - two of them very close to us - who had gone there. He is more expensive - but coming all the way from Newfoundland, Canada - we really weren't interested in making the trek over the border from US to MX. It was just simpler, and meant shorter travel time overall. So why am I replying to you? This is life changing surgery, and a major surgery. I really feel that you should talk to the people in your town who had the surgery - if they are open to that. Failing that - get in touch with people on here who had the surgeon you are thinking about having. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would not give you an honest account of their experience. I would not completely trust the websites sponsored by the individual surgeons or bariatric programs. They are, after all, advertisements - meant to attract business. And there are lots of ads in this obesity help website. I would tend to trust what people tell me on this message board and what people tell me. My last bit of advice to you- perhaps the most important is - if you have ANY doubt about having surgery or about your surgeon or about the hospital - DON'T go ahead with it. Wait until you are 100% sure and certain and comfortable with your choices. Then - GO FOR IT! Wishing you the best of luck!

I am also probably going to travel alone. My husband has to stay home with our kids. I am not getting a lot of positive feedback from my circle....so I will probably have to go alone. But either way I am going!
The airline I highly recommend is Spirit. They are new and a "bare seat" airline, that is rapidly overtaking Southwest. Their prices are very low and you can add their "big front seat" on a flight for as little as $12. Last month I flew from Cleveland to Orlando. My round trip was $199 including taxes and fees.
I put it on a new Spirit Airline credit card and received $100 back after spending $500 on the card. Then I also joined the travel club they offered when I purchased the ticket, got an additional $50 rebate for that and cancelled within 30 days so I did not pay anything for the travel club. My round trip ticket ending up costing me $49 out of pocket.
They are a new airline and their planes are also new and very nice. They are fighting hard to get to the top and their customer service is outstanding. Sign up for their emails and check their deals that they will send you each week.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I just booked my surgery (sleeve) with Dr. Garcia/Dr. Vazquez for June 16th in Tijuana. I am so nervous! I would like to hear reviews, good or bad. Anyone else going to be there at the same time? Any encouraging words are appreciated. Thanks :)
I flew Delta last month to Texas. Luckily I was offered a fairly cheap upgrade to first class so I took it. I have a BMI of 54 and was actually able to buckle the seat belt without an extender. The extra money was worth it to me.

Thank you so much for the reference. How was your experience with him? Do you have a link to his site? I am having difficulty finding him.
Please research Dr. Kelly. Message me with any questions. Good Luck! Linda :)
