Who was your surgeon? Which surgery did you have?

Hello! Yes they do allow one companion to stay with you in the hospital. My husband had a very comfortable futon, blankets, pillows and a TV. They set up and organized EVERYTHING! The only thing you need to book are the airplane tickets. Their outlets are just like ours and the outlets are next to the bed in both the hospital and hotel :) As the patient all your food is free at the hospital and hotel. Your companion will have to buy their own food. Lots of restaurants around the hospital and room service and restaurant at the hotel. You will have a driver for everything. Fro. The airport to hotel to the hotel to hospital. It is all planned out. They will also take you back to the airport thru the boarder. If you want, add me to fb. I posted pics of the hospital, hotel, tijuana... ;)

I have so many questions for you! Do they allow a companion to stay in the room at the hospital. Do they set up a hotel for you? Will my CPAP machine work in their electrical outlets. Do you have to pay separately for food in the hospital? How do you get from the hospital to the hotel after surgery? How do you get back to San Diego from the hotel? I would really like some info and Im amazed how difficult it is to find answers to simple questions....  Thank you in advance..

This is insane - more than of these current responses dont list a doctor. Why would you not give the name of someone who is doing good work? Im looking for help finding someone to do the surgery as well and was really hoping for more from this post...

I had surgery in October 2014 with Dr Alvarez in Piedras Negras and couldn't recommend him highly enough. My husband and I were very well taken care of from the moment we arrived, and Dr Alvarez and his staff are great about following up when you have questions or concerns. I actually just got an email from him yesterday checking in.

I am so glad I did this for myself. I'm down just over 100lbs from my highest as of right now.

I had my sleeve in Tijuana with Dr. Lopez Corvala (at Hospital Angeles). It was a good experience & the nurses & doctors & staff were awesome. My comfort and healing was clearly top priority. My coordinator was Leslie and my coordinator at the hospital was Viridiana. Both are wonderful. They really go out of their way to make things work for you.

I chose Dr. Lopez Corvala after a TON of research and I'm glad I went with him. That said, there are lots of wonderful surgeons in Mexico and hospitals that go out of their way to cater to traveling patients.
