I'm doing great! The surgery was easy for me and I've had very little discomfort or anything since day 1. Tomorrow is 3 weeks. I'm starting to wonder if he really gave me a sleeve or not because it's been so easy ;)

Highest Wt: 274 / LAP-Band Low: 180 / Sleeved at 233 / Goal: 160!

Topic: Skin removal. Body lift, chest and arms!

I lost 240lbs total since bypass in 2007, however I gained 50lbs back over the past 18 months?? Anywho,, Its time for skin removal, body lift, chest and arms. My insurance has a exclusion specifically excluding weight loss skin removal regardless of clinical finding. Sucks!! Cash pricing from anyone good in Houston area is $22000-26000 for what I need. Does anyone have a good surgeon for what I need that is more reasonable in Houston area?/ Or does anyone have experience with going to Mexico for half the price

Who are the best surgeons in Mexico for this and estimated pricing? Thanks, Kelly

Topic: RE: Right Dr in Mexico....All on this site seem great

I have just returned from Tijuana Mexico. Roux En-Y surgery on March 27th at Clinica San Juan with Dr Kelly. HE AND HIS TEAM ARE FABULOUS!! I reasearched sooooo many doctors, I know how you feel. Dr Kelly and his team treat you like family, and they stay in touch with their patients for a lifetime. The facilities that he operates out of are very clean and well kept. He and his team only perform 3 sometimes 4 surgeries per day. There are surgeons in MX that do upwards of 10 to 15 per day!

When our insurance here in the US denied my weight loss surgery, I didn't think I'd ever felt so low. But then I started looking out of the country. This search led me to Dr Kelly and now I look back on that denial of coverage as a blessing.

If you have any more specific questions I can answer for you, I'd be glad to! I'm just adding my 2 cents worth in your quest for a fine surgeon in Mexico! Best of luck

Well I decided are my final three doctors. Lo and behold there we sites say they are board certified bariatric surgeons with thr photocopy to prove it.

Now I go to two websites www.cmcoem.org.mx and www.amce.com.mx .... done of the chosen are on these sites.

Someone tell me what does that mean. Then these doctors list these other US associated credentials such as SAGE AND SURGEON OF EXCELLENCE. What does this all really mean

,Dr. Wilhelmy who works with Dr. Ungson at Mexicali bariatrics is board certified.

I do not know how to go about it if someone could help with how they organised their research etc would be helpful ...........I have a brain injury and while I am very intelligent things like trying to sort this out are difficult for me. I do appreciate all the posts but need some specifics and help with how do i choose and organise this. I am sure some of you must have made spread sheets of research or something. Even more specifics on your experience would be good.  Thank you
