Hello! I would love to hear about your experience if that's alright!
Hi and good morning.
His price is the most shocking thing to most because it is cheaper than anyone else that I have seen and I understand. Dr. M has just recently started doing surgery in Tijuana. This is a promo that Long Term VSG is offering and I expect that it will go up.
I have a YouTube channel with videos that you can watch of me and check out my progress. I had my surgery with Dr. M because of the research I done. Dr. M originally practiced surgeries in Mexicali. If you google his name and include Mexicali in the search, you will find a lot of info on him there. There are also 2 Facebook groups that are exclusive to him and LT VSG. The first one is Long Term VSG with Dr. Jorge Maytorena. Ruben (the go to guy at LT VSG) and Dr. M are both members. This is the link to join this group if you wish......https://www.facebook.com/groups/758719204236937/. The other is Long Term VSG and they're not members of this group. The link to this one is..........https://www.facebook.com/groups/644906018944976/. Both of these groups were made by people who are researching, scheduled or have already had surgery with this surgeon. There are many of us who have already had our surgery on both of these groups so please feel free to join.
Please take a moment to watch my videos....they're nothing special but do provide good info and facts. Long Term VSG started their company this year in Tijuana and enlisted Dr. M to be their surgeon. I was one of the first to use LT VSG. I am still about 9 days from being 5 month's post and am already at goal. You can find my YouTube channel......https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS29vLDBZlwXAs_yITK8kdw and I also have a blog at https://chrissygallegos.wordpress.com/.
As I said, my videos aren't anything special but you will find the honest truth about my experience which is the only one I speak freely on because well it is mine. LOL I hope this info helps you out and please let me know if you have any questions.
Hi Chrissy! I'm considering Dr. Maytorena for my surgery but am skeptical because his price is so low and there aren't many reviews for him online. He has been practicing for quite some time and has done many surgeries so I'm wondering why there isn't more information about him on this forum and other sites. What are the facilities like that he uses? Does he do pre-op testing and post-op leak tests? How long is your stay for surgery and is recovery in a hospital setting or a hotel? Any information you can give me about your experience would be great. The price just makes it seem too good to be true and that makes me nervous. Thanks in advance!
I have been looking at doctors in mexico for a VSG. I had previously planned on a band, with Dr. Kuri...So now I feel that I am starting all over again.
Here is what I have figured out so far...
OCC-Dr. Ortiz 6500+ for surgery, didn't like the person I talked to all that much tbh.
A lighter Me- Dr. E. Ortiz- the coordinator was friendly, had the right answers, and the price for my size is right at 5,000 which I like. I can't find a lot on the doctor himself though, so I am a little worried.
I have eliminated a couple others already such as Kelly (price) , Almanza(reviews from others), and Maytorena (can't find anything on facility, doesn't seem like it's at a hospital)
I don't really wanna spend anything north of like 6k, otherwise it's almost more feasible to have it done in the states...I could really use some help, and some REAL feedback (I see some people that give reviews that are a little do rah rah cheerleader for me to take seriously)
anyways, hope this is the place.
Thanks.
My family Dr. questioned my choice of going to Mexico....I had answers to all his concerns...I did my research prior for 2 years. My Dr., Dr. Alejandro Lopez with ALO BARIATRICS was great. If I have a question, I am able to contact him and get an answer. He does call me back...or sends me messages. My Dr. here is just amazed by how he communicates with us once we come home. I have had a few people in my area who have had Drs who were not supportive at all...I was upfront with him and he even signed a letter saying that surgery was required. In Alberta, you can send invoices in and provincial health care covers some of it...Any questions ...please contact me...Good luck
I had my sleeve with Dr, Alejandro Lopez ALO BARIATRICS. An amazing Dr. and team...Facilites are great and very clean. I had mine in Nuevo Vallarta at San Javier and went with my friend to Tijuana where they use Vida Hospital...Different weight loss companies use different places...do your homework and research...Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I think he is the best!
I had my surgery in P.V. and in June I went to Tijuana with a friend who was having the sleeve with the same surgeon. I hadn't been there since 1978 and was amazed how it was "cleaned" up. We were in a nice hotel and Hospital Vida was a beautiful facility. Do not be afraid to go to Tijuana...research your surgeon. I highly recommend Dr.Alejandro Lopez with ALO BARIATRICS. He is very skilled and his team is amazing.
I actually wasn't able to go this summer. Finances got all wonky. I still plan on getting the VSG done but it will be with another Dr and I'll have to wait [AGAIN] until next summer. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
I'm scheduled to have surgery with Dr. Lopez in January and I was wondering how your surgery went? Did you have a good experience with Dr. Lopez and his team? I'm pretty confident in my decision to go with Dr. Lopez but it'd be really great to hear from someone who had the surgery firsthand. Any advice or info you'd be willing to share would be awesome!
Hi Nieya,
I'm having surgery with Dr. Lopez in Tijuana in January and I'm hoping you can tell me how your experience was with him and his team? What was Vida like? I've done quite a bit of research and I'm pretty confident in my choice but it'd be nice to hear from someone who has experienced the surgery firsthand. My coordinator has been great and has answered all of my million questions but I'm still a bit nervous because this is all so new. Any advice or information you can share would be amazing!
