Hi Sherrie, if you're coming to Florence Hospital you don't really need a blanket or a pillow, unless you would rather use your own that is. The Hospital rooms at Florence have an extra bed for guests and they provide a pillow and a blanket, it's actually inside a drawer in the lower part of the guest bed. You will be very comfortable at Florence.

Good luck to your husband, I'm sure he's going to do great.

I had open RNY about 8 yrs ago and never reached goal and regained some back. Sylvia is my contact and she was super helpful. I've been taking daily vitamins, iron , calcium and biotin the whole time. You have to take them, and yo can do it.

Definitely will keep you posted. Are you revising from a sleeve? Who is your facilitator at beliteweight? Mine is Teri.

Can I ask why you are revising? For me I didn't have much success with the sleeve so going with the DS. This is a huge step especially because of the multiple daily vitamins forever but I can do it....

I've decided I'm going to have the revision but I'm going to try to schedule it in February. I'd love to know how it goes for you so keep me posted.

Researching surgeons can be challenging, but just remember all of this happens on your time and no one else, so don't feel rushed to make a decision. Take you time, do good research and choose a doctor that fits your specific needs. As for the price, you have to remember it is cheaper because you are going to a country with a completely different economy. Down there minimum wage is 5 dollars a day, 12 hour shifts, working 6 days a week. Base salaries are like 1500 pesos a week, which is under 100 USD. While your nurses in the States make 35 dollars and hour, you nurses in Mexico make 35 dollars a day for doing the exact same work. There are a number of factors that go into that lower price point, but they don't mean a lesser standard of care.

I have been down there for a number of procedures over the last few years and received excellent care every time. I am sure there are a number of people who believe that you can't get the same, but actually because medical tourism is such a booster for the local economy they actually have additional regulators and stipulations because they don't want people traveling down there and having bad experiences, because for that country it would kill off huge revenue stream that they depend on.

I researched a year before making my decision on Dr. Quinones. There are a number of reasons that I chose him in the end. He was proctor certified, was the chief of general surgery at Tijuana general, he held a position on the Mexican Surgical Arbitration board, spent for years training as a trauma surgeon, and is also a bariatrics professor at the Medical college, so he has taught many many doctors how to perform these procedure. I just felt his experience level far surpassed the rest in my book.

As for the pain, my surgery was a breeze, by 3 days out I barely felt like I had just had major surgery. By the time I got back to the states I felt good enough to drive an hour to a local casino and play, and by the time I got back home (5 days out from surgery) I went right back to work and taking care of my toddler. In all honestly, I have had tooth extractions that hurt worse than my gastric sleeve surgery. I have some informational posts that I have made that suggest tips for research and questions to ask. I will look them up and post them here so that you can give them a read. Maybe they will help you get started. Best of luck!

I had a VS performed ion 2008 serviced by belitweightt. I had a wonderful experience. So much that I am doing it again! My rep was attentive and the hospital was spotless. I had no complications with my surgery so I makes me feel confident about the doctor. I am sure that you can make these arrangements on your own but I had no problem or complaints to perhaps pay a fee for convenience. All up to you. Also the in house financing was easy and approved despite less than great credit.. I am planning on going back for a revision in December so let me know your plans.
