Hi,
You made the comment "Tiajuana is not like they paint it. I had so many misconceptions about what it was going to be like that I was embarrassed afterwards!" So my question is, what was it like, better or worse than you expected? I'm assuming that cleanliness would be a factor, was it? Did you have your procedure at a hospital or clinic? Any input from you would be greatly appreciated. I am going to have bypass.
THANKS
Hello,
Since you seem to have the same questions as I do, I'm hoping you have an update to post. I have been on the fence for a couple of months on who to pick, I need the bypass. Which procedure are you considering? Have you found a way to check the surgeons credentials?
I had Dr. Joffee for my surgery he was awesome.
He took his time with you explained, listened, he is very compationet person. I was 344 lbs Nov 10 2002 March 1 2003 down 75 lbs July 1 2003 I was 169 lbs I lost a total of 175 lbs. Allot of work did the gym everyday. Aqua fit 2 days a week also.
Had 3 months ok liquid only then started on some purraid foods. But in July 2003 I became pregnant for twins and I started to eat more and stretched out my pouch. Now I am 13 years out and looking for a revision surgery but would not give up my boy's for anything.
If you are still looking at Doctors, you might want to take a look at Quality Medical Facilitators, Dr. Mario Camelo Ramos is the best! He did my sleeve and I know he does revisions. Good luck on your research!
I'm going with Dr. Alvarez near eagle pass. The price is $8,500 and that includes the hotel stay. Look his website up, he is the best surgeon I have researched at the best price in Mexico. The hospital he uses is very nice and is only half mile pass the Texas/Mexico border. He only does the sleeve operation 3 times a day monday thru friday so he isn't over whelmed. Good Luck!!
There was wi-fi at the hospital and hotel and I used apps like Skpe and Whatsapp to keep in touch, rather than calling.
I also bought a plan through my cell company. good luck! Linda
We have AT&T and I added a $30 plan for $.38 a minute for 100 minutes and unlimited talk and text to avoid roaming (good for 1 month). Otherwise roaming was $1 a minute. Also make sure you let your bank know or they will not let you use your debit or credit cards.
For your trip to Mexico did you add an international calling plan? Was it necessary?
I am hoping for Wifi ... but want to be prepared.
Thanks!
I have also done some research. from whta I have found, I thought he was the "real" Dr Ortiz that is from the OCC, he is not the real bariatric surgeon that I thought.
