Topic: My Experience

Hi to you all that have not read or no my story or for those who are new.

I recommend this surgery highly it is so powerful, this will not do Milagros if you do not do what you are supposed to it is just a tool.

On the other hand this tool is very powerful and does work. And fast by the way I had surgery about two months out and days out.

I have lost about 38lbs but with all and the pre op diet and I feel great.

I had surgery on the 28 of November with Dr.Segio Quinones whom I really like and recommend to any body who is self pay and looking for surgery. I had the surgery in Tijuana. The facility is very peaceful and quite and the staff and nurses are always right a a single button away. The whole staff speak perfect English and the nurses that speak Spanish always have some one with them to translate for them. I had a really nice time in the Hotel that they put up for me and also very clean. The first week post op was kinda ruff due to the gas that I has all over my body but that is normal. And my doctor had recommended some medicine for that so that help a little, i thought it was going to be harder though and about a week after surgery I was just fine. The doctor was so gentle that I had no pain in my in-sessions what so ever just gas pain. I had a little time to get used to drinking water I had to heat it up just a bit, then it would go down just fine.

But like I said I am out 2 months and loving watch the inces and pound just shred off. I have never seen a diet or any thing that can or could help us so fast to loos weight. So if you ever are looking for a great place to go and are a self pay patient I would recommend going to Tijuana with Sergio Quinones he is a great doctor and has a really great staff.

Topic: RE: A Lighter Me

You are a God send! I have been back and forth with A lighter me and Ready 4 a change. I did some research and didn't feel right about Dr. Ortiz. I found Dr. Lopez and for some reason I felt good about him. My friend is going on the 19th of this month to Ortiz. I was going to wait to hear her experience. I wanted to go with Lopez from the start but didn't know anyone hat has used him. What hospital did you have your surgery in?

Topic: When can I have COFFEE?!?! LOL

I'm 9 days post op and my body shivers inside every time we pass a Starbucks. The morning routine isn't the same without the sensual sounds of water rushing past those tiny, gravelly coffee beans shooting out liquid morning gold into a warm and percolating coffee pot!

........am I going nuts without coffee yet?

THINK

SO!!!

lol... when can I have my sweet Jezebel?!?!?

Topic: RE: Headed to Mexico!!!

Not sure who you're referring to Adam, but if you meant me, I went through a coordinator called BeLite Weight, mostly because they offered financing. Had I been cash pay, I may have gone about this differently, but I paid half up front (probably could have gotten away with less if my credit was better, but tons of expenses since xmas on the credit cards etc).

Anyway, I paid $3500 down, and then its $200 a month for the next two years. I spent a little more than other folks here but 1) financing and 2)my doctor lives in america and preforms the surgeries in mexico. He also has a lot of skill as a surgeon, studied in mexico, abroad, and in the united states. Just looking at his incisions a week afterwards, I'm HELLA surprised that i'm not in any pain and they are healing so much omg.

You really can't put a price on your life and I just felt better spending extra for a srsly talented surgeon. Something about paying only $2500 or $3000 for a surgeon plus his team I didn't feel comfortable with. I still got more than 50% off the American rates though.

The other folks are going to good doctors too, I'm sure, but my surgeon has so much education, skill, and experience, he can charge more -- and he still has patients coming every day to mexico for him to do this exact surgery. To put this in perspective, from start to finish, he did my gastric sleeve in an hour. I saw the clock before and after.

If you do go to BeLite Weight, private message me and I'll give you my name - see if you get a discount for a referral - no idea but worth a shot.

Cheers,

Tanya

(ps, the website is beliteweight.com)

I just came across this post, and Im not  sure who you are talking about, but I am in my hospital bed in Puerto Valarta, and I have nothing but good things to say about everything.  No negatives.  I didnt go through middle man, I booked with Dr. Joya and paid 5700.  Some other doctors hijacked his site, so make sure you go to the officialdr.joya site.  It has official in website name, the other dr joya site are different doctors.  I feel great about my decision!

Hello-

Enjoy reading your posts.  Can you tell me more on how you found your doctor, does he have a website covering the basics including costs, etc?  All I have found is what seems like a middleman company that books for him and several other docs. He seems like the perfect choice we have been looking for but cant find the details on the surgery, costs, etc.

Thanks for any help,

Adam

Topic: 3 hours Post Op

I just wanted to tell everyone  Its done, and Im sooooooo glad.  Also, I know that I depended on these forums to help me realize that it was ok to go to Mexico for this procedure.  And its true, everyone  is sooooo friendly, the hotels are super nice, the hospita is super nice.  I even have a little living room attached to my hospital room.  My mom has been very  comfortable.   I do feel like the.re has been excellent.   The blood draw was fast and painless, the IV was good, they are giving me pain meds and i had some to relax preop too.  The blankets and pillows arw that of a nice hotel.  I am extremely  comfortable.  Dr. Joya was friendly, great bedside manner, and my surgery seems to have went well.  Hos coordinator Natalie is great.  The only issue so far was a delayed flight and I dont lile the airpot in Mexico City.  Once we landed

Most people are able to speak English, and I just cant say enough how impressive my experience  has been with Dr Joya at Amerimed hospital!

Now I feel groggy, tired and have a scratchy throat.  They have  kept mypain imder control, and Im thrilled ots over  I was so scared!
