What do I bring to Mexico?

I know I have seen on different profiles items that people recommend you bring to Mexico. I have my date with Dr. Aguirre for November 10th. Although that it a ways out, I'm too excited to just sit here and wait! Any recommendations on what I should bring to make my time after surgery more comfortable? I do remember someone saying to stop at an American grocery store before crossing the boarder for dairy products. Anything else? Thanks.....Kathleen

Hi Kathleen, make sure to bring undershirts, flip flops, soap, shampoo, wash cloth, hand towel, vhs movies, and books. I used all of it in the hospital. I hope you are using Bambee to get there because he is wonderful and speaks great english. I needed him after surgery to get Rosella and I called him and he handled it for me. He will stop at the store for you and I would pick up (if you like this) milk, yogart, suger-free jello, cottage cheese, banasas and cheese. I got a big clapsable cooler at sam's for $25.00. They sell coolers at the store for under ten dollars. You really will not be able to eat much. Some dry soups taste good also. Hope this helps. Take Care. Deb

Dear Kathleen: I had my surgery with Dr. A 3 weeks ago and I stayed in one of his apartments. We also used Bambi, which was a life-saver. I have a list on my profile of stuff I took or wished I had taken with me. Best wishes to you on your upcoming surgery! God Bless!

My husband and I stayed in one of the the apartments. On the way, Bambi stopped at the store and we bought food that I would need but didn't think about getting things my husband could eat. After my surgery, he didn't want to go to restaurants and eat so he mainly ate tuna, salmon, peanut butter and things like that, that he could recognize at the Mexican market. I would take extra tape and gauze pads. They gave us some before we left the hospital but we used all of it before time to leave. I bought some pretty cotton gowns I could wear the first few days and they were nice enough that I could go outside and walk on the porch in them. Be sure to take a sweater or light jacket. We were there in May and I was cool at times and my jacket felt good. Cheri
