There's a ton of information on the Ensenada Bound profile. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/profile.phtml?N=B1069977213 I promise, the more you read Dr. Aguirre's patient profiles and become involved in his community here the better you'll feel about your decision. Good luck Dianna one week to go!

Deborah, Rosella, his daughter is handling all of the arrangements now. Here is a link to her profile. It has the phone number along with more info. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/forums/profile.phtml?N=A1080790309&ID=A-1045621205 You won't regret your decision. I am 5 wks post op and doing wonderful. His staff is wonderful. I removed the staples and tube myself. My PCP doesn't even know yet. I have an appointment with her on the 13th. I just felt this was a very personal decision and chose not to tell anyone. Only a select few know. Everyone else just thinks I am dieting or something. If you start reading profiles and read the forums you will become very confident in Dr. Aguirre. By the time I had surgery I wasn't even nervous. Seriously. Not even one bit! Good Luck! Julie PS if you have an AOL email address, there has been difficulty with them receiving them. I had to switch to a yahoo address and then everything was fine.

Tell me about taking out the staples and tube. Was it hard to do? Did you fly home? How many days did you wait to do this? Sorry, I am noisy but I don't want to stay in Ensenada too long. It gets expensive. thanks for the info! Congratulations, I can't wait to be on the losing side also.

http://www.wisdomkingdom.com I bought a staple remover and a few other things from this site. i got glycerin swabs as well, because I don't like the sound of nothing by mouth for 3 days! Sandra D's profile has detailed instructions on removing the drain http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/forums/profile.phtml?N=D1053760947&ID=A-1045621205 Expect to stay in Ensenada for 6 nights, coming home on the 7th day. Day 1 Arrive in Ensenada, Meet Dr. A for consult/bloodwork. Enjoy a small dinner. Day 2 is surgery Day 3 is in the hospital Day 4 you'll be released from the hospital, unless there's a problem Day 5 you're finally allowed to drink water Day 6 see the sights Day 7 you'll be allowed to go home. Dr. A's apartment for $79/night without the nursing service is a very good price. Can save money on meals preparing your own food there. Most of us have flown to and from Ensenada - I'll have a 7 hour journey each way. On the way home I'll just have to remember to get up and walk every ninety minutes or so, as well as flexing my feet and legs intermittently. I hope I've answered all of your questions - feel free to ask as many as you need to feel comfortable and confident. Dianna

Deborah, I second what the others have said. As you read more and more of the profiles of those that have had surgery with Dr. Aguirre you will become less and less frightened. I had surgery a week ago yesterday and I am doing great. As a matter of fact I went for an almost 1 mile walk this morning. Granted, I didn't break any speed records--maybe more of a stroll--but I did it. If you can get hold of Rosella she can give you all the information you will need. She is wonderful. She made our time in Mexico so much better than it would have been. I'll keep you in prayer as you embark on this life changing adventure.

Hi, I am having surgery on June 23rd. So far, I have read almost every post and profile by this wonderful forum and I have talked with Rosella on the telephone. She speaks excellent English. You know I am terrified of needles and I may pass out just from having blood taken but I am going to do this!!!!! My problem right now is I can't concentrate on anything else but surgery. I am a teaacher and my students keep asking me what is wrong. Anyway, all this will pass. I couldn't reach Rosella by email when I used my AOL account but as I was told by many of these wonderful women, I signed up for a Yahoo account and received an instant reply from Mexico. It was very easy to book an appointment. When you get your date let us know. I will be there from June 22nd until June 30th. If you make your appointment during that time I will make sure and check in on you! You will find that the support form this group is the BEST.
