Has anyone heard that your current insurance can cancel you after surgery

Some one told me that your insurance can cancel you if they find out you had the procedure in Mexico.  Also, what do you do if you have issues with your surgery after you return from Mexico?

I don't think it is true that insurance can cancel you for having surgery in MX. First,of all how would they know,if you don't tell them, and you are not required to tell them.

Before you have surgery in MX,you should talk to your PCP and make sure they will agree to continue to follow you after surgery in MX. Some will, some won't. I have been fortunate that all my doctors here have been more than willing to follow me after.

it depends on what the issue is with your surgery. Hospitals have to give you car,it is against the law to turn you away, but depending on what the problem is,the insurance company could refuse payment for the treatment and you would be billed for it.
