I am allergic to most rx non narcotic meds and am hearing narcotics are not used. Should I plan to bring my own?

What I'm finding out is that according to mexican laws the Dr. cannot give you any narcotic meds unless you're in the hospital.  So if you're recovering in a hotel room.....sorry!

One of the doctor's I've looked into gave you the option of recovering in the hospital rather than hotel for a day or two of recovery time for like an extra $100 per day....  You may be able to look into that with your Dr.

Hope that's all clear.... :)

Is codeine still available at pharmacies in MX? I know you just have to sign for it in Canada at the pharmacy, but do not need a drs. order.

New laws in Mexio now require you to have a prescription to get most medications.

The simplest answer is to choose a surgeon that has you in a hospital (rather than a clinic and recovery house or hotel****il you don't need much in the way of pain control. My surgeon (Dr Aceves) is one, Dr Alvarez is another.

I didn't need anything at all for pain by the time I was discharged from the hospital 3 days after my surgery.
