David,
I have never craved eggs, cheese and tuna so bad as I am now. I am so sick of sweet stuff. I am not hungry but my taste buds need something different. Today I sucked the juice off a dill pickle. I needed something sour. LOL I didn't eat the pickle just sucked the juice off of it. LOL No carbs yeah!!!!! I go for my 2 week post-op on Monday so I can't wait until they advance me.

Hi Sasha,
I know exactly how you feel. I'm only one-week on Phase 4, just came out of Phase 2 (with Dr. Toder also.) I had good luck with having broccoli cheese soup. Subway was pretty good, and it wasn't to chunky, and what chunks there were were very small, and very soft. I think you might do okay with that.
As a weekend treat, the broccoli cheddar soup at Ruby Tuesday was excellent, but the broccoli chunks were huge. But, when you just can't stand the same flavor again, well, it's a nice alternative.
Jello mousse cups were good too, especially the dark chocolate one. Why? 'cause it just tastes DIFFERENT.
My favorite protein drink was the EAS Whey Protein, in chocolate. It tasted most like chocolate milk to me (I tried the unjury powder...I thought it was gross myself...) 31g of protein in an 8oz shake with skim milk.
I feel your pain, I do! Wait until you can have that first piece of cheese, or tuna...it's HEAVEN!!! Don't cheat, it's worth waiting for!!! You'll never look at food the same way again, after 28 days without any!!!
Drop a line, any time!!!

I'm sure Dr. Dahim is very qualified, and would give you great care. I was super-happy with Dr. Toder, I have to say. :-)
Best of luck to you!!! Stay in touch!!!

Lynn emailed me back today and said she was ready to schedule my appointment with Dr. Toder but to be aware that she is currently scheduling for May 10-13th. She offered for me to meet with Dr. Dahim instead who is booking only two weeks out. I told her I want to stick with Dr. Toder since I can't have surgery until the semester of school is out in May anyway!
Topic: Day 4 Post Surgery
Well today is day 4 post surgery and I havent felt better in years. I tried to take a nap and had so much energy I could not fall asleep. This is crazy since every day I want a nap LOL. Since Monday morning when they weighed me in the pre-op room I am down 4 lbs. I am folliwng phase 2 and have not caved yet. Its very hard to cook for my husband and 2 children knowning I can't have what they are having. Last night I wanted to give in so bad when my family had baked chicken, potatoes, and salad. That is one of my very favorite meals, but I didnt do it as I know soon enough I will be able to small portions of regular foods. I am still having some pain with the gas exiting through my left shoulder but was told to take gas x strips to help with that. Dr. Toder's office said it was the extra carbon dioxcide leaving my body from surgery. I was getting sick of the same old shakes so have started having some tomato soup and that was really good. I also had some creamed soup (after I drained out the chunks) but didnt care for that. My favorite thing so far is sugarfree fatfree cheesecake pudding mixed with unflavored unjury protien powder. One day at a time for a life long change~ Sasha

The Psychologist called today and its officially in Black and White that I am not crazy! LOL. He sent me the report from the personality test and the eating disorder test and apparently I have poor body image (no kidding really?) and a slight issue with perfectionism, but other than that I am good to go! Now I just have to wait for an appointment to be scheduled with the surgeon! I am soooooo excited!!!

Hi David,
It is awesome that you and your wife are on this new journey together. I think it is a huge help and a lot easier on both of you. I still have to deal with either my hubby cooking a big meal for him and the kids and me smelling it and wanting it (But I haven't caved into temptation) or me having to cook and not being able to eat it myself. I am not having huge withdrawls but the smell of certain foods does make me crave it. LOL I get pretty tired easily, even taking a quick shower zaps so much of my energy. I can't wait until they say I can start taking some B12, I am hoping that will help a bit with the energy.
Hey come on down we have 3 campgrounds. Patten Pond which is in Ellsworth but more towards bucksport, we have Narrows Too which is on the Ocean and is in Trenton and Mount Desert Narrows which is in Bar Harbor and also on the ocean. :) If you ever do let me know so I can give you a discount.
Take care
