Glad to hear you found your 9th or 10th wind!!!  Every day, it's hard to get up and face the liquid diet, isn't it???

It will pass...you're almost there!!!

Best of luck to you Kristie!!! I remember the psychologist test, he seemed to know everything there is to know about me LOL. Oh and the lovely written and computer test, my eyes were so tired by the end of that! Glad everything worked out and your able to now schedule with Dr. Toder. Have you had your initial apt. with Dr. Toder? If so how did that go? I had my initial apt at the end of October and that went well. But had to battle with my insurance company (Anthem) for close to 4 1/2 months and Dr. Toder's office doing 3 appeals before they would cover the procedure. Finally in Feb. they decided they would cover and I was able to have surgery last week! It goes very quickly. Keep us updated. Its great to hear others stories, encouragement, struggles and anything else as there are not many who can actually relate to what we have been through~

Thank you all so much. I was in a slump, but feel I am doing better today. I found out after I got home from the hospital on Wednesday that my husband no longer has a job so I have had all that stress to deal with too. But...my nana made me some low fat chicken broth this afternoon for lunjch and I enjoyed that. I also froze my yogurt and pudding to try something new. I had a frozen yogurt for breakfast and it was a very good treat! I purchased some sugar free popsicles too as I like popsicles. My husband picked me up some Jillian Michaels Chocolate Protein powder so I will try that later. Before the liquid diet phase I had a chocolate Shakeology shake every monring, now nothing compares to that lol. Thanks for all the encouragement. I know this is a long journey and I am back on board!

 Hi Sasha,

I know it's hard.  I'm only a week past my Phase 2 myself.  Hang in there.  It IS worth it.

Aside from being SICK AND TIRED of the same liquids after four weeks, I sailed through my 2-week post-op period.  It sounds like you're having a little more difficulty than I did, and I'm sorry for that.  I was forewarned about possible pain from the carbion dioxide gas, but I didn't have that problem.

There were two things that helped me through that time.  One was EAS whey protein, in chocolate.  It tastes pretty good.  Not quite like a chocolate milk, but, close.  You can find that on the shelf at Wal-Mart.  It's worth having.  Also, I don't care for cream soups either, but, broccoli cheddar was okay.  Subway makes a pretty good one, and the small chunks that are in it are pretty soft, and should be okay.  For a real "treat", try one broccoli and cheddar at Ruby Tuesday.  It's full of real fat and cheese, but, at least it tastes like something.  It can help get you though the next week.

I know it's hard.  Hang in there, Sasha.  It's worth it.  Feel free to message me if you ever wanna chat.  I'm only about ten days ahead of you, so, my experience with the liquid diet is still fresh in my mind too...

Just keep focused on the future, this investment will be worth it. Look where you will be 3 months from now,6 months from now and one year from now.
You can do it.

I cannot say that I know exactly what you are going through but I myself am trying to get a ahead start on my liquid diet likes and dislikes...I already have a freezer of SF pops and a cupboard of tomato soup and chicken noodle (I wont eat the noodles and chicken my daughter will). I have done a test drive of the liquid diet and I failed miserably. You are doing great! As for me I hope I can get it down by April 30th! You are doing a good job and from what I have read its normal to have "buyer's remorse". I hope all gets better/easier for you!

Last night and all day today I am thinking why....why did I do this? I am trying to sip sip sip and still not getting nearly what I am suppose to in each day. I am tried of protien shakes...the only soup I like is tomato and thats getting tiring. I tried beef and chicken broth but couldn't do it. I also tried cream soups and didnt like them either.  I enjoy my yogurt each morning, but only like strawberry so 3 weeks of strawberry yogurt is getting old. The only thing that keeps me going is pudding mixed with unflavored unjury. I have no idea why but each night around 6pm I start having huge sharp pains in my left shoulder from the carbon dioxide exiting....its been a week tomorrow I am hoping it will stop soon. I am in a bit of a slump and am wondering why in the world I went through with this. All I want is a salad...and I realize I only have one more week on the liquid diet if everything on the 4th goes ok I can move to the next phase, I am just having a hard time cooking for my husband and kids and not being able to have anything. My family doesnt understand even though they try. Thanks for listening~

@ David, I am sure that Dr. Dahim is very qualified as well. I am sticking with Dr. Toder simply because I am not in a hurry to have surgery and Dr. Toder was my mother's surgeon in 2005 so I just feel comfortable with my choice. I am sure that Dr. Dahim would do a fine job as well :)

@ Jeanine, I had to wait for my results because the appointment date got screwed up and when i got there they had rescheduled my appointment so the doc squeezed me in so I wouldn't have to drive back. He talked to me first and then set me up with the test and a pencil and left for the day and then followed up with me on the results a couple of days later. I was happy I didn't have to drive all the way back on another day so it was fine by me. We may be having surgery on the same day! Lynn told me Dr. Toder is booking the 10th-13th of May right now and I finish my semester of nursing on the 11th of May and want to have surgery right away so I am hoping for the 13th as well! Its coming up so quickly! YAY!

I am glad you are sane. And what large person seeking surgery DOESN'T have poor body image! You had to wait for your results? When I had my eval done I got my results right then and he even wrote the letter to EMMC then too! I am glad that I didn't have to wait because  I would have gone CRAZY!  lol
