Enjoy this "honeymoon" period in your surgical journey. Things will even out.
It's really amazing what it took to satisfy before and after surgery. I can still remember right after surgery having a half hour pass and I hadn't been able to finish my 8 oz. protein drink! ONly being able to eat a few forks of scrambled egg.
At 2 1/2 years out I can eat most anything in small portions. Hard proteins (meat) still sits heavy in my pouch, so I still chew, chew and eat that slowly.
DH and I have learned that when we dine out that we will either get questioned as to whether the food wasn't good, or we ask for the boxes to pack the extra food to go at the start of the meal. WE did find that there are some foods, and I don't know why, aren't tolerated as left-overs like they were at the 1st meal.
Now for the unfortunate part. Fats and sugars gave me dumping during the 1st year or so, as we are told they will. Now I can eat a bit of these, but it's a fine line how little it takes to go over the limit and cause dumping. Darned- I just had to try, and found that I can eat some junk. As they say it's not brain surgery. I still fight with my mind over cravings. Most days I find that it's thirst, not hunger.

Dr. Toder is wonderful! She did DH's RNY also.
I ended up with an intestinal blockage at 3 months out and she surgically corrected that, as well.

Thank-you! It was a good feeling. My goal is to be down another 38 pounds by my birthday (June 30). I see you had the same surgeon both my wife and I had. She's fantastic, isn't she? Real no-nonsense...

I can remember being so anxious and feeling that it was all real once the insurance approval came through.
It seems that time flies by once this potential stumbling block is reached.
Here'l hoping for surgery really soon.

Congratulations on reaching such milestones, 100 pounds lost, clothing to a good cause!. It's wonderful to go through this journey together with your spouse. DH and I did the same 2 1/2 years ago and don't regret a thing.

Topic: Struggling: could use a vetern Bander
I have stalled and started gaining. I have gained about 5 pounds and holding. I got a fill before christmas that made it so I couldnt eat anything so I thought I was close to having the right amount of liquid in my band. So I went in to have a little taken out and I was WIDE OPEN. I could eat anything. So I went in for another fill. Still nothing. I can eat anything I want. BLARG. I am eating less then pre-surgery, but much more then I should be able to.

The time will fly by, trust me! And just think, you've got another 2.5 months to work on losing weight before the surgery...you could lose another 20-25 pounds by then! They always told me, the more you lose before the surgery, the easier the surgery will go (I ended up lose 74lbs before surgery).
Congratulations on your date! You should be going home from the hospital on my birthday (June 30).
Have a great day!!!
