Thank you David! I am ready to dive in and do this!
I had my "last supper" last night so to speak...today I am just going to treat like any other day. I am surprised that I am not freaking out and running to the nearest hot dog stand, mcdonalds drive thru, or thai restaurant. lol.
I currently have been using Body Fortress protein at Walmart. I have not liked any vanilla powder I have tried yet, but I like the Body Fortress Chocolate...expecially in the blender with some ice. I did order some BSN Bananna cream pie powder but it hasn't come in yet. I really wanted to order some samples from vitalady but the shipping was more than the samples and I couldn't justify that.
So I do have a question about this soup at Ruby Tuesday's David. I was trying to come up with some ideas for my preop diet and I found this brocolli and leek puree soup. It is pureed to a complete liquid...and even if it wasn't obviously you could fine strain out anything. I know I wouldn't want to eat it post op due to the broccoli and gas issues but other than that I thought it was very healthy. The whole recipe serves 6 and it had 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the whole soup.. Other than that it is low sodium chicken broth, garlic, 1/4 cup light cream (which is optional and can be substituted for water), brocolli and leeks, salt and pepper. I asked Lacey about it and she said I couldn't have it because of the butter and cream. I'm going to email her back tomorrow, but I would think even the healthy choice "cream" soups would have at least a smidgen of cream or oil. The ruby tuesday soup sounds awesome, but if she nixed the brocolli leek soup I would think the cheddar soup would be out of the question? Let me know your thoughts if you would!
Thanks again, Kristie

I myself used EAS Whey Powder Protein (available at Wal-Mart, etc, and in larger bags (much cheaper per serving) at Sam's Club. It was chocolate, and tasted much more paletable, to me, than the Unjury, which I thought was disgusting.
Soooo...today's your last day on solid food for awhile, huh? Enjoy it, but don't go nuts. BTW, if you live near a Ruby Tuesday, they have really really good cheddar cheese soup...you might want to wait until the second week to try it ****il you're sick of the other stuff), but when you are about to go a little crazy eating the same stuff every day (on the liquid diet), try that...it got me through to have something that good, and it still be "real food", so to speak...
I wouldn't recommend it normally, it's full fat cheese, etc, but, it might help you if you start to go a bit nuts on Campbell's cream soups...(I won't lie, it was tough, but it was worth it...hang in there! We'll keep our fingers crossed for you!)

What MaineGal says was exactly the case for me. Dr. Toder made five small incisions, and each was covered with a small "Steri-Strip", which is nothing more than a minor band-aid. Mine stayed on until the day I had my 2-week follow-up, and she took them off at the follow-up, but, you really have to look to see where the incisions were. Looks more like a pimple than anything...

I haven't purchased from her. I bought my protein from Unjury. My other liquid phase favorites were SF Instant breakfast, healthy choice soups and yogurt. I enjoyed the protein pudding recipes.
1 package of SF instant pudding, 2 scoops of protein powder and 2 cups skim milk. Makes 2 servings. Have fun with the pudding and protein flavors.
Cheese cake pudding and vanilla protein powder
Chocolate pudding and van or choc protein powder.
Mock Pumpkin Pie Pudding- Vanilla or ButterscotchSF pudding, 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, 2 van proteins, pumpkin pie spice and 2 cups skim milk.
Your 2 week liquids is coming right up. You'll do great!

Oh- forgot to add.....
The stiches are covered with steri-strips (clear tape) which will come off after a few showers- you will be told not to take if off, let the tape come off on it's own.
At your follow up visit Dr. Toder will remove any outer stitch threads.

If she's able to do robotic laproscopic RNY she makes either 3-4 tiny incisions. I have 3 ports, HD had 4. I had robotic Lap RNY, the robot was not available for HD so he had old fashioned lap-RNY. No drains for either of us. The "ports" were closed with neat tiny sutures. It's hard for me and HD to find our incisions now.
She even used the same incision sites to do my 2nd surgery!
I told her I'd love for her to do plastics. She is meticulous!

I was wondering if any of you purchase products from vitalady? I have heard a lot about her on some of the other forums on here but have never actually purchased anything from them and was curious about all of your thoughts?!?! I also noticed for any who are interested that they are doing a "tour" right now and they are going to be in Augusta on July 7th.
