Hey girl! Remember I told you my sister is a big wig with AVEDA concept salons? She travels the country giving continuing education to well experienced stylists. I did ask her about your situation and described your facial structure/shape to her and here is her response....
"I'd say a cut somewhere between her shoulders and chin...a stacked bob. This will allow her hair to appear fuller. Also purchasing Over the counter products such as Biotin are generally ineffective. As I am sure you know Kristie, getting more protein will help fight the hair loss even though I realize it is a part of the process to some extent. Let me know if she has any questions. I'd be happy to help"
Hope this helps!

Cool Kim.. Thanks for the info about the cath. I was wondering if she put one in or not and I am very glad to hear she doesn't. As a nursing student I have seen so many UTIs and unnecessary cathing and especially where we are supposed to be up and moving.... not having a cath is a good thing! AND KIM....your scars are EXTREMELY minor! I'm really not concerned with the scar...trust me with the roadmap on my tummy after two kids (both c-sections) I don't ever plan to be wearing a bikini no matter how small I get so I really just was wondering how she closed the wounds from a curious nursing students point of view :)

Hi there!
Sorry it took so long to get back to you!
I'm sorry, but I don't have a definitive answer for you! I don't believe you can, though I have to be honest, since I don't drink it myself, even if they told me not to drink it, I'm sure I didn't listen (since I don't drink it anyway.)
Not like you don't have enough on your plate (or, rather, NOTHING on your plate HA!!!), but, maybe this is a good time to wean yourself from that nasty habit too...hahaha...But seriously...I bet this would be a good time to give up the coffee...at least for four weeks...
I still crave soda...it's the one thing that's been REALLY hard for me...there's nothing like an ice-cold fountain soda, with a straw...Mmmmmmm...But I haven't had any.
Can anyone give her a more definitive answer about coffee???

Topic: Hair Problems
I am just now 3 months out and my hair is falling out in massive amounts. My head burns and my hair is all over everything. I am not bald but if it keeps going at this rate I am going to be. I had problems with my hair starting to thin because of my thyroid about a year ago that did a number on my hair and now with this on top of that I don't have much hair left. My question is do any of you know of a hairdresser in the Bangor or Ellsworth area that knows how to deal with Gastric Bypass patients hair issues? I need a really good hair dresser ASAP. Any help would be great.
Thanks
Kim
Topic: RE: Drains?
I had asked Dr. Toder about this before I had my surgery and she said she does not do drains and she does not put a catheder in you either. She said there is more chance of infection if you do. She said only under rare cir****tances does she do either. I had steristrips and I had 5 of them. I showed you the other day my scars. You can certainly see my scars but I am light skinned so that might have something to do with it, who knows. LOL Heck my stretch marks and saggy skin bothers me more then the scars from surgery. LOL
Topic: Preop liquid diet Day two
So I made it through the first day with no problems. Today however I have been dealing with a horrible migraine all day today. I haven't been overly hungry though. I am not sure if the migraine is due to not eating or if its from coffee withdrawals? Which leads me to my question? Can I have coffee? I don't see it in my phase 2 diet book.

Oh, another P.C. "can't call it anything 'offensive' (to whom?)" thing. Gotcha...
I don't mind any of that. Don't think Connie would feel the same way, though. Maybe Spencer Mountain... :-) That's very close to where we are going camping...

It's in Greenville, it used to be Big Squaw Mountain. It's almost straight up in some places and you have to climb on manmade ladders but the view of Moosehead Lake is amazing from up there. 7 1/2 miles round trip and my little pomeranian did the whole thing! LOL

I'm not familiar with that...where is that???
Connie went swimming yesterday, for the first time in a few years...she was surprised how much harder it was than she remembered! *grin*
I know I'm a little sore, after Saturday's hike...but it's a GOOD sore, you know??? *grin*
