Topic: RE: Friday nite support group and clothes swap!!!
Work always seems to schedule me for the closing shift on nights where there is a meeting! I think that I am going to have to start changing my hours of availablilty so I can make a meeting!
VSG on 01/09/12
Topic: APPROVED!!
Found out today (even after receiving a letter stating "deferral of services pending further tests...") that I am approved! Scheduled my appointments with the trainer for 11/10 and 11/28 and my final consult for 11/10 also. So, my date should be sometime after 11/28!!! I am so excited! So, now I need to come up with the $350 program fee and I will be all set! I am so happy and excited and jittery even! LOL

Topic: RE: Salad?
I love my salads. I use either spinach or romaine but not iceberg lettuce because it has very little nutritional value. Toppings that I use (not all at once, lol) are:
Purdue Short Cuts (pre-cooked chicken strips)
Reduced-fat feta cheese
Reduced-fat Mexican blend cheese
Real bacon crumbles (once in a while, usually when I'm not using cheese)
Cooked ground beef
Deli Turkey (I roll up them up and then slice them)
Cucumbers, chopped
Onions, chopped
Green peppers, chopped
Tomatoes, wedged and cut in half
Bolthouse Farms Yogurt Dressings - YUM!
Sometimes I add taco sauce to the Bolthouse Farms Ranch dressing to make it a kind of mexi-ranch flavor.
Keep in mind that I have a very tolerant pouch and have had no problem with vegetables or their skins. I don't know if that's because I chew my food like there's no tomorrow or what. Have fun experimenting with your salads!

Topic: RE: 4 weeks...
Don't stress about it. Stalls are normal. Just keep doing the right things and your body will catch up and respond again. I had a 3 week-long stall at about 2 months post-op and I was very frustrated and worried. I checked with my NUT to make sure I was doing everything right, and just kept doing what I was told to do. Sure enough, the weight loss restarted eventually. And I've lost 65 lbs. in 13 weeks, so don't sweat it. If it still won't budge after a few weeks, definitely call your NUT - they'll help you trouble shoot!
