Keep doing what you are doing, you will be fine. Even if you don't lose another pound, as long as your weight goes down! Keep at it!

You're doing great. Dr. T has cancelled surgeries before, but my understanding that it is only if your weight has gone up. Keep to the plan. 4lbs in 4 days is awesome! Don't forget to take your vitamins, too.

Mine didn't want me to have the surgery. He has since changed his mind. I don't dump and so if he brings home junk I ask him if he plans to eat it and when. If he says he doesn't want it I open the trash and dump it in. He's learned to stop bringing it home. I know it seems harsh, but I CANNOT control myself. I even cru**** up and put it in the trash, not in the package because I know I would dig it out and eat it.

Yes you are moving in the right direction and you will be fine.
Yes she has cancelled surgery. she will call the pre op room to see what you weigh.
as long as your have gone down. you will be ok.

Thanks, I went back to my binder after I posted and found a little orange booklet all about phase 2 (duh!) so I think I'm doing ok and am just impatient. Has she really ever cancelled anyone's surgery? And if so what for exactly? I'm not worried I will be over my last weigh in with them but I may not be much below it. As long as I'm moving in the right direction I should be fine, right? Right?

You are doing great
they are trying to keep your calories under 1200 a day. if you are not hungry with what you are doing then i say stick with it. If it gets to the point that you cant take another shake then you can go back to the book to find something else. 4 pounds in 4 days is great some people lose from 10 to 20 pounds on the liquid diet.. It is the size of your liver that they are trying to make smaller so that it is easier to move and healthier.
take care

Topic: pre-op liquid diet
Hey all I have Dr. Todor and am having my surgery next Monday. I am on the liquid diet and right now I'm doing the New Lifestyle shakes I had left from a prior weight loss attempt. The plan called for shakes all day except a lean meat and veggie dinner but I've been doing it all liquid. My question is two part, for the past couple days I've only had like 700 calories which seems low and in the 4 days I've done it I've only lost 4 lbs (seems I remember more stunning weight loss than that from before) and I've been exercising every day. I'm wondering if I need to add another shake or two or if I'm overestimating what I should be losing and should just stick with it.
OR should I be doing a combo of the liquid diet listed in my binder, it lists stuff like soups, shakes. I don't remember getting any specifics other than "do a liquid diet 2 weeks prior to surgery". I'm scared I'll get there and not have lost enough and get surgery cancelled (oh and I have a sore throat that I'm praying goes away!!). Anyone have any thoughts to calm me down? Is this just normal panicking at the last minute?
Tami who wonders why she ate so much on her vacation!!
