Just FYI............Pre-op group tonight from 6-7pm, post-op on Thursday from 6-7.  Both are held at 12 High St, Conference rooms in the lower level.  Pre and Post ops are welcomed to BOTH meetings.  There is usually a good mixture of each at the meetings.
Hope to see you there!

I can understand the Diet Coke thing...I am a Mt. Dew girl...drink if from morning till night...the caffeine doesn't bother me at all, because I am addicted to it I suppose.  I have quit soda before and the headaches were awful.  I am cutting down this time, only had one yesterday, and so far none today...I'm drinking water, which I would normally not do unless I was "dieting".  Working on making water a part of my life, instead of soda.
Wishing you well...I look forward to hearing about your progress!

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better about everything.  I think we've all had those last minute doubts and fears.  You're perfectly normal!  Keep us posted on everything!

Hi Heather~

This is a remarkable life experience.  Take your time, read, ask questions, go to support groups, think, begin to make changes.

One of the first big changes I made at the beginning was giving up Diet Coke.  I went cold turkey.  The first 2 weeks were hard but after that it was relatively easy.  I didn't give up caffeine but, I ingest far less than I did when I drank Diet Coke.

Good Luck!

Cheers,
Debbie

31 lbs. lost before surgery!  My goal is 150lbs.  My surgeon's goal is 110lbs.  I just can't imagine that weight right now.  Maybe someday . . .

Only you can answer this question for yourself and it's a tough one!  I wish you luck!

I, too, lost weight pre-op, to the tune of about 52 pounds.  I kept asking myself, "If I can do this now, with what I have been taught, why can't I do it without the surgery?!?!?!"  For me, I KNEW that I could lose the weight, but after a while, I would lose my motivation and get complacent with my eating.  I am also a stress eater and a boredom eater.  I know what my issues were and are.....even WITH the surgery!  It's not easy, with or without the surgery.  YOU can be a success EITHER way...it's up to you!   Good luck with your decision.......
