Topic: RE: how you doing, nathan?
it sounds like you are eating very very little (or drinking I should say) Be careful, dont overdo it, you dont want to get weak or sick when you are so close. I know everything you say is true, the head hunger is tough. I have been very surprised this last few weeks, I have found a strength in myself I am proud of. It sounds like you are seeing the same, recognizing why you want to eat and trying to change your thinking.
as far as the second thoughts, I did that last week, too. I was seeing results via the liquids and thought "what the heck do I need surgery for?" But reality is a funny thing. when you get worried, or hungry, write a note here, the replies are inspiring and they remind us we arent alone. Or tht what we are going through is not novel. You're hot on my heels, Nathan, heres to our new lives!

I am having moments where I wonder if I will survive this 2 weeks of liquids lol. So far not too bad, I feel completely empty. I am loving the Unjury shakes. I think I probably need to be taking in more though or something. Yesterday Day 1 I just had 1 protein shake, and 1 sf jello cup, and 1 sf popcile. Today Day 2 I had two protein shakes, and one 1 sf pudding cup. I think a lot of what I am dealing with is head hunger, and a realization of the way food has played a role in my life. My eyes are opening up around how I used it as a reward, and comfort tool all my life. If I was in a good mood I would celebrate by eating something delicious, and the same if I was in a bad mood. It's an eye opener for sure. I've been having 2nd and 3rd thoughts about surgery now that it is so close...however I know it is what I need to do. All I could think about today was Pizza, Pepino's Mexican Resteraunt, Fast food, you name it, I wanted it lol. It's going to be an interesting couple of weeks, and an interesting journey. Overall I think I am doing ok. :)

Thanks Patty! I think I will call Lynn tomorrow. I actually met someone today that had a breast reduction in 1991 and she highly recommends him. I am feeling better now.
David sorry to hear you haven't been happy with your surgery. :(
Thanks for the input guys. I welcome more!

Topic: RE: Lap Band-Southern Maine
I live in Eastern Maine, but am going to the Doctor in Lewiston...Dr. Loggins and Dr. Bang. I oroginally went to them to see about the Lap Band, and have decided to go with gastric bypass instead...I am at the beginning of this journey, hve had lots of test done already, but still have a way to go. Good luck with whatever you decide, and if you'd like to message me, please do. I'd love to hear what you decide, and how you make out! Good luck!

Comes and Goes...LOL LOL I had it 24/7 and it was terrible. I assure you that I have no doubt I have done damage to my esophagus. I have not had even one issue with my band...I bet you are going to do great! We have BC/BS a 90/10 plan. Boy how nice for you that you don't have a copay..I had to stop my psychical therapy because I was paying $25 a visit..$100 a month. I tore my rotater cuff (a side effect of wanting to get rid of my granny grabbers...lol) I do the work at home now. How fortunate you are that you haven't developed any weight related health issues. Does your insurance require a 6 month physician supervised diet? You may have received my email by now...I don't want to ask you the same questions twice...LOL My house looks great! My kids really got into it. I cut up pieces of paper and wrote a task on each one...they chose one out of a hat and did it. They actually asked for more tasks when they were done...LOL

I should of said the nut doctor..I have no copay and I work for the state so my health insurance is really good. I do not have any co-mobidities and yes my BMI is 50, i am only 5'2 at 275lbs.
I did clean a few closets today because it felt like the perfect day to do it. As far as my doctor and ordering that test, I have no idea why but I did it. I am thinking because I have had acid reflux come and go and when I get heavier, it comes, and when I lose weight, it goes!
