JUNE 16th!!!  I am so excited.  They actually offered May 28th at first, but that is a little too close for me.  I need more time to prepare!  I am sooooo excited. I would say you have no idea, but you DO!  YAY!!

Joyful

Keep on fighting them, like Tracy said have the surgeon submit the paperwork and then you can fight it if it's denied. But if you don't submit it you have nothing to fight.

After day 3 it gets easier. I had three/four protein shakes a day along with protein "waters" in between for a snack.  Best of luck.

I went to see Dr. Huang week before last, he's great and will take good care of you. Let us know how it goes. Best of luck.

I would have your Dr. submit the paperwork for approval anyway.  Sometimes the wording is confusing and while weight loss interventions are not covered Gastric Bypass may be.  It is worth a try.  If you still have no results there are tons of letters on line regarding how to appeal.  Best of luck.  It is SO worth the fight.  Tracy

Topic: Roadblock Remedies?
Hi Everyone,

This is my first posting.  I have visited the site several times since being introduced to it by a young woman in the Surgical Weight Loss Center's waiting area. Reading the posts and looking at the incredible transformations inspire me and make me realize that I need to find a path around, through or over the roadblock that has been placed in front of me.  I reached the place in the process where I met with my surgeon and had been approved for gastric bypass surgery.  Unfortunately, the agency for which I work has changed insurance providers.  The one under which I began the process covered weight loss surgeries but...weight loss interventions are not covered under the policies my agency has selected to purchase with the new provider.  Has anyone run across this situation and had to purchase supplemental insurance? Any tips or cautions about advancing down this path?

Disappointment and discouragement have done a good job at defeating my resolve  but as each day passes now, I feel certain that I am not supposed to passively accept this as my fate.  If anything, this obstacle has strengthened my desire for the surgery.  I have accessed the insurance information on this website and will be following up but I wanted to ask if anyone had anecdotal tips.  Thanks for any suggestions you may be able to offer.

Why does it say 7/15/10 beneath my avatar?  What does that date mean and who put it there?
