Topic: OMG my fellow travellers! PROTEIN!
http://bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com/p/protein-shake-recipes. html

a very kind lady posted on here the other day about proteins, and to NEVER allow yourself to drink a crappy protein drink just because, that there really are GOOD drinks out there. well, guess what?! she was SOOO SOOO right. I am halfway through a protein drink I cannot wait to finish. But I wanted to tell you guys first. I am SHOCKED. I thought this stuff might mask the yuck, but never ever did I believe I would like it enough to want another. wow.

All shake recipes assume the following: 8 oz. skim milk along with 3-5 ice cubes. Note: the more ice cubes you use, the more shake you will yield
German Chocolate Cake: milk, 1 scoop chocolate whey, 1 tbsp SF German Chocolate Cake syrup mix (or 1 tbsp each chocolate, caramel, and toasted coconut SF syrups)

this German chocolate flavor is to freaking DIE for, folks. Not even kidding. It uses a syrup called

Da Vinci SUGAR FREE German Chocolate Cake Syrup 750mL with Splenda
zero calories. How? i really dont know how the heck they could make something SO tasty with zero calories, but Im all for it. wow. Did I say wow?

  • Kosher
  •
  • Sugar free: made with Splenda
  •
  • Combines the flavors of moist chocolate cake, caramel frosting and toasted coconut.
  •
  • eight dollars and twenty cents. I ordered it like...Friday or saturday? and it came today. Oh my. Breakfast, lunch, dinner too.

  • I ordered some other flavors, and I got....drool...chocolate chip cookie dough flavor....sounds yummy, no?
  • Hmm, I am now stuck with bullets...sorry.
  • I think you could even use my code for 10% off, it is THANKS!  I have some other flavors coming soon, too. Strawberry, coconut, kahlua, caramel.
  • One more bullet just to say...my shake is gone. and I want more. But I will be good. Incidentally, YOU dont have to be. I cant even believe my good luck here. Yay. protein, yummy yummy protein.

That is a great idea with the kids doing chores!  I should try that.  I already decided that It will be the band.  In my opinion, it will work the best for me.  I did call my insurance (Anthem 180/680), and they said they paid 100%, I even downloaded the medical policy and do not see anything about 6 months?

I hope your week is going well so far!  I will respond to my other email.

 Hi Kennas,

Thank you for your reply.  I have decided to go with the lap band.  I am still waiting to get a letter from them stating that they received my referral but have been going to the meetings, gym, on my own..Trying to get it done so maybe it will move along more quickly for me.

I would love to know how your doing and hear about your journey as well.

The pain situation is great!  I stayed on top of the pain in the hospital -used the prescription pain meds BEFORE the pain got bad.  It's kind of like taking something for a headache at the first twinges rather than waiting until it's a splitting one.  I only used 2 or 3 doses of the presription stuff at home and then switched to liquid Tylenol.  I'm down to about 1 dose a day.  I've worked up to 30 minutes of continuous walking plus lots of little bits during the day.

31 lbs. lost before surgery!  My goal is 150lbs.  My surgeon's goal is 110lbs.  I just can't imagine that weight right now.  Maybe someday . . .

I too am amazed at this process. I think you'll find that your positive attitude and preparation will go a long way to making the next week or so fly by.
You are two weeks behind me. I've been most surprised about not being hungry. It's very strange.
