I definitely feel your pain. I got a lap band in 2013 and from the day it went in all this thing did was cause me stress. All this thing did was cause me to vomit and and even at that mess on water. The funny thing is a did not do my research as most bariatric doctors have no use for the lap band. The % of failure I'd over 80% and the most successful is the RNY with 98.7 success rate.
So ive gone though the program and have surgery booked January 25/16 to have the band removed and revision to RNY
i can hardly wait to have a tool that will give me a high success rate into my weight loss journey.
So be strong and get the band removed and get the RNY
mine is going to be done in one operation so it's just a single surgery.
Be strong and ask for what you want.
Good luck in 2016

I would like to hear your story and how you approached him, and what was his response?
I am trying to gain the courage to face him to talk about a revision. I'm concerned he'll want to do a bunch of tests or make me "hang in there" with this band, and I am so done with it.
H/C/G = 303/262/170 Ht.= 5'3 Fill #1 = 4cc's Fill #2 = 2cc's Fill #3 = 0.5cc's

2nd goal = 260
It has been a long time since I've visited OH. August 10th will be my 6 year wls anniversary. Ive gone below my goal weight by ten lbs and have maintained. I have to say that I am happy to be a healthy weight. However, nothing could have prepated me for the stark reality I live in currently. The loose skin is very uncomfortable physically as well as mentally. I do not have any issues with break down or infections. I am really uncomfortable in my clothing. Mental stress is the big issue for me. I wear spanx to hold it all together, but I am getting horrible stomach aches by doing so.
In my head I am still obese. The loose skin seems to keep me in this mindset. I dont look in the mirror until I am fully dressed because if I look at my body I start to cry and become depressed. This is not at all what I had envisioned post surgery would be like. I thought I'd be so happy once the weight was gone. I am far from happy. Plastic surgery is not possible as I cannot afford it. I actually think that I have more body image issues now than I did at 467# I feel defeated. Can anyone relate? How do you deal with this because I need help here. Advice welcomed. Thanks
Tonite is support group at EMMC and clothing swap.
Bring any unwanted clean clothes and if your size is there you may take the clothes that you could use. WE have had great response to this. You do not have to have had bariatric surgery to participate.
Support group tonite is run by Lyn Bolduc and is at 4:30 you may be late and is over y 6:30 Hope to see you there.

I am still here if anyone needs any support or help let me know my email is [email protected]. I struggle with 10 pounds back and forth but I do know that exercise and following the rules are important. I still do not drink with meals and do not miss it. I do zumba a couple times a week. It sure has been a long winter. I need to check this forum out more. Take care all and hope your journey has been as great as mine has.

What kind of surgery did you have before. I had a lapband and was revised to RNY on Feb 25th. At the Maine Medical center Weight and Wellness program.
Hello, I had wls 6 years ago and I have gained quite a bit back. I would like to see if I am a candidate for a revision, but I don't know of any Maine program that is willing to do revisions. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thank you for any help you can give.
