Oh you give me such hope and positive feeling!   I have 16 days until my surgery and  am getting a little nervous.  I love reading posts like yours.  Congratulations  Keep up the good work.   Someday I will figure out how to resize my photo to put it with my posts.   Be well!

Good for you!!!!!  Where did you have your surgery?  I am going to Lewiston.  Have to go there Friday to see the Dietician...it is a 3 1/2 hr. ride for me, but I know it will be worth it when I am at the stage you have made it to!  Good luck to you,and continued success!!!!

Topic: 1st Day Back at Work
Today is my first day back at work.  I teach 2nd grade.  Fortunately, my student teacher is still here so, I'm not really teaching - just being here - and that's enough for this morning.

It's also warm and humid - not very comfortable in the classroom.

I'm sipping water almost constantly.

There's also a lot of questions from colleagues.  Most I'm able to answer fairly easily but I've also found myself to be a bit PMSy even though I am well past menopause.  So, I've been teary today, too.

Life is always an adventure!

31 lbs. lost before surgery!  My goal is 150lbs.  My surgeon's goal is 110lbs.  I just can't imagine that weight right now.  Maybe someday . . .

I am truly shocked at the quick recovery. The pain is extremely minimal, I havent had a pain med even tylenol since overnight friday. Gas pains are about it. I will be honest, Friday was tough. IV infiltrations, repeated attempts to get a new one in, headaches, homesickeness, and a crappy bed/pillow (BRING YOUR OWN PILLOW) made me miserable, my stomach was bloated and yucky, and I was constantly interrupted when I tried to sleep. Part of me regretted it that day. But since saturday morning on, it has been nothing but easy. One episode of the munchies, which for some reason tomato soup cured (??) and that was it. still working on getting the protein into myself, but no problems hydrating and taking vitamins. No nausea, even. Im really really surprised. I know I have a long way to go before I am "there" but barring any craziness, I think I can safely say I made it over this hurdle. On to the next.

Just so excited. I am not hurting much at all today. Already seeing a real difference on the scale, I was 288 on the 11th, today I am 278. My incisions are doing well, and...Im wearing PaNTS. This is exciting to me, humor me. :)

thanks ladies. I am not having any trouble at all with keeping hydrated, taking my vitamins etc, but Im not even close to enough protein yet. Just cant consume enough to get it in before Im stuffed. I hope I am right that the main thing for the first few days is to stay hydrated and worry about the protein as I can handle it. I am already losing weight like crazy. I am up, showered, and dressed today. In real jeans. so far so good I guess. Now to tackle that protein issue.
