When does your mind catch up with your body?  I've lost 102 lbs.  I've gone from a size 24 to a 10.  I went to Wal-Mart yesterday to buy some shorts as I only had two pair that would even stay on my hips.  The last time I bought clothes a little over a month ago, I was a 12.  I have only lost a few pounds, but even so, I could feel that my body had changed.  I grabbed the 12's and didn't have time to try them on.  When I got home, I put them on and they were too big.  I went back and got 10's and they fit perfectly.  I even picked up a medium 8/10 shirt dress that fits perfectly.  The problem is that when I look in the mirror, I honestly don't see a size 10 body.  What I see is something closer to a 14.  When I take a shower/ I see a 16/18 if I look.

It's weird, because when I was a 24, I saw myself as a 16/18.  I knew I was overweight, but it didn't seem too bad.

So those of you that have been out of surgery for over a year, does your mind ever catch up with your body?  If so, when?

Topic: RE: Dietician appointment
Hi Heather,I went to this and it's not that bad. I don't know which nutritionist is going to do the class, but hopefully it's Corinne. She is the bomb!! It takes 3 hours because they go over EVERYTHING you will need to know (nutrition wise) for life after surgery!! Make sure you bring a notebook to take notes, it is A LOT of information, You are going to feel VERY overwhelmed after the class, but give it a few days and it's not so bad when you think of it. You will see what I mean when you go. You will be in a class with other people, so you won't be the only one. You will get a folder with a bunch of stuff in it that they will go over with you while your there. Bring a calculator with you. They will offer you one but I just brought my own. You should also bring someone with you that can help you take notes or ask questions that you might forget. Write down any questions that you might have ahead of time, before you go. So you can ask when you are there. Ok I think I covered everything so if you have any questions just send me a message and I'll get right back to you. Remember I just went threw everything that your going to be going threw, with the same staff. So feel free to ask!! Take care

Topic: Dietician appointment
Hi all.  I am going to Drs. Bang and Loggins in Lewiston, and will be attending my first dietician appointment soon.  This is a 3 hour appointment.  Anyone been to this, and would like to tell me what happens that day...and why it takes so long?
Thanks!

Eeeww no fun.  I haven't dumped on anything yet but I did have stuff come back up.  Not sure which would be worse!  Here's hoping we both avoid any more of that stuff!

Topic: how Im getting protein
the hubby told me the other day that he had found a 10g milk made by Hood, and brought it home for me. 10 g per cup, and I use 11/2 cups mixed with a sf carnation instant breakfast. thats 20 g of protein. Because I am still struggling with the protein powders, I use this 2-3 times a day plus add to it with "meals" Im getting about 65 daily now. Maybe need a little more. But for those of us who struggle with the taste and cost of protein shakes, this works really well.
