Topic: 4 weeks out!
It's hard to believe that a month has gone by since my surgery. I'm still in wonderment with the feeling of not being hungry. I'm learning when and how much protein I need to eat to feel good. I'm amazed that 1/2 oz of tuna fish or 2 scallops fill me up like a Thanksgiving dinner!
Sometimes I'm frustrated with the rate of weight loss but when I average it out, it sounds good - an average of 6 1/4 pounds a week. And when I put that together with my 30 lb loss before surgery, I guess I'm on the right track.
On June 23rd, I'm going to an international conference in Denver to accept an award for my work in the classroom. I'm wicked excited and overwhelmed! But, I'm putting off shopping for clothes until the last minute. (Where's your favorite place to shop for clothes?)
I'm sending big thank you to all of you for helping me through this adventure!
Cheers,
Debbie

Topic: RE: No clear liquids the first week?
Mine is the same as Michelle's.
I can't imagine blended deli meats!
Michelle, Haddock is a soft protein but go ssssllllloooowwwww. I'm finding I can only eat an ounce of soft protein at a time.

I'm still marveling at not feeling hungry. I have to make sure I have protein throughout the day. It's weird to have to remember to eat! This week is easier than last week with managing food/protein. Just keep working through it all.
Topic: RE: new discovery!
I mixed frozen raspberries (no more than 10) with chocolate unjury protein and skim milk. Yummm
Topic: RE: Strange feeling
Very normal in the beginning. I am 14 months out and wanted to chew my arm off in the drive through waiting for my wake up wrap this morning....lol. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I am on full liquids, but nothing like that. I can have yogurt with no chunks, soup broths, 2% milk w/Carnation (Im living on it, it helps the protein, esp if you use hood calorie countdown) a few protein drinks (I am struggling with them again, the consistency just blechs me out) and thats about it. Pudding cups, popsicles, LIQUIDS. I cant wait till Friday, Im hoping haddock is considered a soft food. Maybe the difference is that yours was lap band and mine was rny?

yep, normal. I was pretty much where you are last week, thinking I just really liked water and not feeling hungry so just ok with that. I had to kick myself in the butt to restart the protein. It really is important. Glad you are doing well. Its very weird not feeling hungry, huh?

Not having hunger is normal for this surgery I am two and a half years out and i dont have the old hunger. I have head hunger. Sometimes i think i am hungry because i have not had anything for a while.
You need to plan your meals. and stick to that. You need to get at least 45 gr of protein in a day 90 is better. You dont want to lose muscle when you are losing weight so protein is very important. You are not broken!!! It is the wonders of the surgery so use the tool while you can . I have heard people say their hunger came back with a vengeance. but mine never has yet.
Take care
