I was told to expect my hormones to go completely nutty for awhile after surgery, and I have to say it has been true for me. They are still whacked out and I am 4.5 months post-op!

That is so sad. Perhaps she can get it done after she heals? Your friend is in my prayers and wish her a speedy recovery.

So I have had some intermident pain in my upper abdomen with sharp pains into my shoulder as well as nausea but not anything I couldn't handle. One night a few weeks ago I went to the ER because the pain into my shoulder was really bad. However they did tests and said they couldn't find anything wrong. I even suggested to my doctor maybe it's my gall bladder and they said it coudl'nt be because it wasn't on the Right side, however when I saw Dr. Toder a week ago she stated that "I'm pretty sure your gallbladder didn't read the text book and doesn't know it should hurt on the right side" and wanted to have it checked.
Well yesterday I had an ultra sound and today i get a call from Dr. Toder, long story short, I'm going back in and she's going to remove my gall bladder. I know some of you have been through this.... what can I expect? Did you feel better after?
Thanks

I still don't get hungry like I used to, I am hoping I am one of the lucky ones that stays that way. But I have found it's very important to plan my meals every day so that I get enough protein, I never have trouble getting enough calories...LOL
Oh, and in the beginning (first few weeks) getting your water in is just as important, but like someone else said, protein shakes count toward your total fluids for the day.

A friend of mine who had the band done a few years ago went in today for gastric bypass....well what they found was that the band had grown into her stomach, and had caused a hole. They repaired the hole, but were unable to do the bypass because of this. I feel so bad for her. She has struggled to lose weight for sooo many years, and now has another hill to climb. She will be in the hospital for about 5 days they think. Say a quick prayer for her if you have a moment.
Thanks,
Heather
