Topic: RE: Walking Poles
I've had my Nordic walking poles for almost a year and I love them.  I've gone through 3 sets of rubber tips already!  It IS a great workout!  I bought my poles and replacement tips on ebay.  They aren't the leki, but they still work well.  Enjoy!  It's a lot of fun!

My husband took me to Epic Sports in downtown Bangor on Saturday and bought me a pair of Leki walking poles.  http://www.leki.com/nordicWalking/index.php  They make walking a full body workout because it actively engages the upper body muscles.  I definetly walk with better posture and much faster using them.  Using them burns 40% more calories than walking without poles!

If you're looking for a way to boost the intensity of walking, you might want to give these a try!

PS A neighbor told me that sometimes Marden's carries them also.

I haven't been on the board in forever, but saw the topic and wanted to respond.  I am almost 2 1/2 years out and my mind definitely has not caught up!  I am wearing 6/8 bottoms and mostly medium tops...but I still feel like and see a 14.  I alw3ays pick up shirts and think "this must run really small because this xl looks like it will fit."  It is actually a pain because I go into the dressing room with a m, l, and xl of the same exact shirt etc.

I also have been shopping for an entire day and ended up with nothing because all I can see is my stomach.  I will put say a dress on and feel like it is snug in that area and doesn't look good, my husband thinks I am crazy because he sees nothing there.  I wish my mind would catch up, shopping would be much easier!!!!
