So, I am one week away from surgary and I am going to go to the lap band pre/post op support group today.  I am realizing all these questions that I will have after the surgery.  Like:  can I put berries with seeds in my protien shakes, how long till I can swim in a pool, should/can I take benefiber if I get constapaited, are these the right calcium supplements, etc. 

I really like using the board for questions but hardly anyone on the Maine board has had a lap band from my doctor.  And every doctor is different. 

I also am hoping they will let me weigh myself on their scales.  I think my scale is way wrong.  I just want to make sure ya know.  Anyone know if the Maine Med bariatric program will let you just weigh your self?

Everyone is a little scared just before, I was. But then all of a sudden it was done and you think to yourself,"what was the fuss about". Don't get me wrong, there is pain and discomfort and a lot of trial and error, but, it's a new beginning and you take it one day at a time.

I'll wish you a wonderful, happy and healthy birthday now, as you may be in hospital the day of.
You will be on my mind that day, and I will say a little prayer for you.
